Hopefully this plays out like the aftermath of the assassination of Qasem Soleimani. Trump had threatened to attack 52 Iranian "significant sites" if Iran retaliated. Iraq did retaliate, by launching ballistic missiles at American air bases in Iraq. Trump to his credit did not escalate.

But yes, there's the potential for the USA to be dragged into another war. Time will tell.
