What does it mean if a provider doesn't charge you for her time at dinner
There's been more than one time when I've gone out to dinner with a provider either before or after our session.
Neither provider charged me for her time at dinner. They only charged me for our time in the bedroom.
As far as I know, it's customary for providers to charge for their time at dinner and in the bedroom

Don't over think it.
Just say thank you for joining me for dinner.
Congratulations, she's trying to cultivate you as a repeat long term client

Plenty of guys brag that providers do alot of extras for them(buy gifts, make dinner)
In all my years in the hobby I have only encountered one, a very pleasant local young lady.
She served me lamb chops, roasted veggies and couscous along with a very good bottle of Rutherford Hill the other day after our rendezvous; and didn't expect additional donation.
Unfortunately I believe she pampers others the same way, not just me

It means that she likes you as a person. To her you are a client that she likes spending time with and a monthly income. You have a friend with benefits as long as you are paying BCD. IMHO it's better than having a relationship.

Have had a few that would share a meal on occasion and usually PAY! This was mostly after a session and they were done for the day.

Agreed, don't overthink it. I've had multiple tell me I was the last of the day and just want to hang out somewhere to grab a bite or a couple of drinks. It's just hanging out, nothing more. Even been invited to join them with friends at events as one of the gang because they thought "we would all vibe well". I passed on some (sorry Rocklahoma fans) and accepted others (darts/pool at a bar and Superbowl party). Met some neat people, but nothing that changed how any of us hobbied.

I second a lot of the advice above. However, if a provider wants me to pay for time while she eats on my dime...that is a sign.

One of the times, I footed the bill. The other time, we split the bill.
Even the time I footed the bill, the provider offered to split (yet I insisted)

I think this goes in the same category as when a Provider engages in conversation off the clock. It's just an indication that she has some time, and she finds the conversation engaging. When the conversation is no longer engaging, or when her time is no longer free, hopefully she will let you know.
Now I have on two occasions thought that my engaging conversation was off the clock only to find out it wasn't, lol, which I just stacked up to experience.
But I've always been very flattered and appreciative to those Providers who do this, and try not to take advantage of it.

May be it her sales tactic take the customer out dinner to sell high end bottom end and top end.

I have never heard of an independent provider not expecting a donation for any time spent with a hobbies. Not even for a first time meet-n-greet.
Oh . . .maybe back in the ASPD (pre-2010?) days when there were a few non-BCD group "Social Events".

Being nice? Wants you as a long term client ? I’m an old man and trying to figure out the logic of a woman is impossible.

If our session wasn't booked as a dinner date and we go out to dinner before or after our booked session, it means I like you on a personal "real-world" level and enjoy your company. Otherwise, you would only get session time. Like doesn't necessarily mean "real-world relationship" like, but we all know that happens as well.
