why? do that?
I can't expect to go to a restaurant, where a meal is about $12, and expect loud disturbing noise?
can I expect decent food or good service?

If you want to go to a place without kids, it's going to cost a ton more than $12. I do it ALL the time.

But to think that you are not going to have families with screaming babies and loud kids and a general din at a family restaurant, that's just silly.

News flash...kids are loud at Chili's and Applebee's, too. Go to a nice UPSCALE adult place if you want ambiance.

I don't expect kids screaming at Eddie V's, but I won't be complaining about them over at the Red Lobster.

. this kid was above the normal kids being loud
otherwise i can't see this having been an issue
as i said, to understand better, you had to be there
you wont complain'? that;s your personal choice, why not complain? you think going out to eat subjugates you to the whims of a child?

but if i went somewhere, like fazoilis, i dont expect silence at al while eating, BUT i dont expect a child to be continually shrieking either.,
and that is what this seems to have been..loud near continuous noise

and is any restaurant a place for that?
no
Heck, even at walmart, if your kid if going crazy, you gotta do something, you cant just anoy the fk out of others
NEWS FLASH

if you want your kid(s)_ to be constantly screaming, eat at home --JS TBB

Timmy,
This described situation is not a new topic. Kids in restaurants have been misbehaving ever since the first BBQ happened at the front door of the community cave. Back when I was in hospitality I trained staff to deal with it.

Like the manager, you are way over-reacting. Again, this is a family restaurant.

All large F&B outfits have policies on this stuff (and I know what they are). Those policies are 99% cash register based along with protecting the outfits reputation.

Other options for the manager could have been:
B-Three's idea of comping the complainer (my fav choice)
Move the complainer.
Reassign a mom type waitress directly to table as an only table to help the actual mom get everyone through dinner quickly. (my 2nd choice)
And there's more.

Stop arguing about trivial stuff, and it is trivial, and accept that the manager made a significant error.
You can always eat at Plaza III, by yourself.

Per usual you are wrong
the manager made a choice, as it was his prerogative
the woman of the nosy child got mad and tried to blame what happened as "discrimination", which there was no evidence it was

that this the job of managers, to look at the situation and make choices
I know if I had been eating there, I would have been happy to see some loud kid removed and incompetent mom asked to leave since she had no control over her child and NO regard for the other people there

you have failed in your response

accept the fact what you say has as much bearing as a fart in the wind

Have you noticed that the farm folks put on their best blue jeans when they go out to eat at the fancy Red Lobster?

Does everyone remember the old saying:
If he shakes it three times: he is playing with it.

from a buisness perspective the manager did the right thing, he made all the other customers happy
AND

got some press(all press is good press)

maybe the mom/dad will learn to control their child.

I imagine it would be a tough call for the management. If one party is complaining, odds are other patrons are also annoyed, but are not complaining. One would have to be there to read the situation and understand the severity of the annoyance, the logistics of isolating the problem (moving may not be an option given space, location of open tables, etc.), affected patrons, etc. If it made national news, I'm guessing its more than your typical crying baby that we've all experienced. Since I wasn't there, I would reserve judgement and not condemn the manager for his actions.

FSN,
I get what you're saying.
But to toss a whole family instead of assigning staff to assist the mom was the managers error.
Been there, done that (a lot of convention hotels run a weekend brunch open to public to get the kitchens fired up for the evening main events), added a bonus to the senior waitress paycheck to cover her lost tips from other tables.
We picked up a good handfull of the kids moms friends as customers for a few months.
As I mentioned above, happy cash register and protecting image is underlying policy.

Timmy,

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...ds/1983864001/

Let's look beyound this discussion of disruption of your day, and personal desires. Go back to the referenced web site and read the item again: then read your comments and note the items that do not correspond to the referenced web site.

The conclusion: you may read individual words, but you do not understand nor comprehend what you are reading. Reading comprehention is used to be an important part of grade school and high school testing: read a paragraph, put it aside and now tell us what was said.

You don't seem able to do that. Reading comprehention is obtained prior to logical thinking: you lack that too.

It is time to block your comments due to a lack of reading comprehention.

"whole family"?
how many were there?
and based on that artcle, Id go there
Outback reminds me of star treck
recall
n The Wrath of Khan (1982), Spock says, “Logic clearly dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

so why pander to one family, who thinks it is alright to infringe on other people trying to enjoy their meal/money?
