Democrats like O'rourke will need to come to th middle a good bit more if they wish to be elected the next time. A lot of voter still stayed home, even with this record crowd in Texas. The economy will have to tank or Republicans will need to really screw up in order for Democrats to win without changing their tune a bit.

Like wise, Republicans as well, should take how close the election was won by as a warning. They too need to come a bit closer.

They'll need to find a way to work in bipartisan manner. Voters are getting fed up with both sides.

I would love to see Trump work with Congress. I have hope that some great things can be achieved for all of us.

We all would, but Trump is Trump.

Last night was a win for both sides. And the United States of America will no longer be directed by a single party.

It is now bipartisan, regardless of who does or doesn’t like it.

But Trump is Trump. He will spend the next two years lying, campaigning and defending is high crimes and misdemeanors.

When you take into account 42 Republican seats were up due to retirement. The Dems picking up 27 seats is hardly a wave. They lost seats in the Senate. No blue wave. There was a green wave, as in money spent on the mid terms.

O'Rourke spent a HUGE amount of money on social media had all the "Q factors" and couldn't win. The only thing that will turn Texas blue is more immigrants from Latin America and California.

Actually I'm more concerned about the Muslim women who won House Seats up north.

Crazy Pelosi won't work with President Trump and will ensure that her Democratic constituents won't work him either. She's already stated that.

I agree with you on O'Rourke. He was too far to the left for me on some issues, but Cruz was too far to the right on most issues for me.

Ok - you went back to this. In another thread someone said you predicted a blue wave and you got on there and said you didn't. It's easy to see how folks could think that after reading our posts. I honestly do not think I predicted a red wave however, I'm not gonna go back and try to find it. To the best of my memory I did not think either side would produce a "wave." I knew Cruz would win. That was a no brainer.

I do think Trump will win in 2020. The dems still don't have a message unless you know of one and can enlighten me.

No blue wave when you take both House and Senate results into account. Still don't know exactly how many House seats Democrats picked up but you shouldn't belittle the results. Taking back the House was the goal and it was reached.

Senate gains were significant for Republicans but fairly meaningless when you look at the 2020 presidential race -- ND, Indiana, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas -- these are all states that Trump won in 2016 and will win in 2020. Arizona and Florida, 2 states that could go either way in 2020, were neck-and-neck.

The other states that were very significant in Trump's 2016 victory -- Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania -- all elected Democratic Senators by rather healthy margins. All 3 elected Democratic governors. Will this mean anything come 2020? Too early to tell.

First things first. Democrats must come up with a Presidential candidate that does not carry the baggage that Clinton did and who is not too far to the left.
