In my own experience I've found that most hooks won't furnish a la carte services.

I can see how it could either be a good thing or a bad thing from the point of view of the hook or the customer.

And, as Next says, most providers won't do ala carte......which is, of course, their choice......but I do think that an ala carte menu would benefit the provider, as well as the hobbyist who is short of play money.
