I just read an article about a black woman who did a 2 week experiment on this sort of thing. People touching her hair, commenting on her skin etc.. She said it was racist, but I think some people are just clueless with no damn manners! She also did the touch them back thing, or if they complimented her on her hair she would say something about their stringy blonde hair or some such.

She seemed to get very upset by the situation, and I agree in most ways, But like Jislander said, I have been shaving my head for 25 years, and although its more common now, back in the day it was rare. Women would walk up to me in bars and ask to touch it. Not a problem, ladies!

Yes I watched that too. Its called micro aggression. And no its not the same babe. They are saying you and your to you. But always yall this yall that to us. Its not flattering to be lumped in with the negative and thats what she was explaining and why it is wrong.

I wouldn't tie the hair touching to micro-aggression. I think nowadays everyone is so self involved and so used to quick gratification that people don't think about others anymore. For instance apparently it's very common for people to randomly come up to pregnant ladies and rub their belly. Nothing aggressive there. Just simple lack of thinking of someone other than you.

Read closely hun look at the wording. That still has to do with you vs. saying y'all. And if you would look at her test you would see that she marked a difference. She and I had the same mindset. If you say you have beautiful hair. That's amazing I'll take it. But if you fucking tell me I love y'all's hair its such a freaky texture what the fuck would you say to that? It is racism and its not okay. Ya get me home skillet?

Im guessing I confused you on my statement because I quoted your whole quote. I did not mean to reference anything about that experiment. I am simply stating, I don't believe you can tie micro-aggression to someone wanting to touch your hair, your belly, but rather relate it more to bad manners.
