After ASPD was washed away a lot of us had the golden opportunity to reinvent our handles. Some kept the same name (rightfully) and others changed. I changed mine as the hobby was more sesoned and I had more experience. I chose my handle for veriouse thought out reasons. Musician, a handle that was coined to me in my youth, representation of my hobby desires, and a good reflection of my personality.
One diferance between monger handles and provider handles is that the mongers is more perminate and remain with a hobbyist threw out there hobby life, unless you get banned then you become a wonderer...

Providers come and go, they can come back with a new fresh name, and there handle is more of a tool then a reflection but there are a few that settle into a handle that reflects to perfection (Bianca)!

One of my first threads in ASPD was "origins of" how did you become the handle!

 Then there was talking avatars!

Love this topic Autumn West was my original stage name. Its super hippie-dippie and I used to know an actual girl named Autumn West so I didnt see it as being too "stripper-y" when signing up here Ginger has always been my nickname and I really didn't think I would garner much business from this site so I must be honest gingerpie never had much thought. It was just cute and playful |

I obsess over images (if you couldn't tell), and I have this very full, complete picture of what I imagine New Orleans bordellos looked like in the 1920s and 30s, so I wanted a last name that would reflect that image.

I actually sat down with a notebook and wrote one column for first names, another for last names, and then I tried them all out together.

That's interesting! Some actually do put thought into their names. 1920's era New Orleans must have been something to see...its a very interesting city to tour & take in the history even now.

I've been using aliases since I was eleven years old. I love naming traditions, and it's one of my favorite topics of study.

My original working girl name was the first name of a film's protagonist, and the last name of the person who directed it.

I've noticed that men who either hobby or partake in other social pay for play like webcam services will most likely give themselves an alias that starts with the letter "J". I'm assuming this is because the name "John" is so heavily associated with the hobby, and these guys say, "Nah, John is too obviously fake... I'll be Jay/Jason/Jake/Jeff/Jeremy instead." I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

This is of course different than the internet handle, which is another tradition in itself.

I chose to be Sue Nami because of my squirting interests and wet powerful connotations. I thought a funny name that was unique would be memorable and help me stick out in the fellas minds. I knew i would have no name confusion as well because there are no others like me. good topic hun, not sure how i missed it the first time around.

I had never thought of that! But now that you mention it, it does have merit.

Do you think it might be some repressed subliminal guilt coming out in their naming convention?Quote:

Ahhh the 20's imo one of greatest periods in our history, minus that whole stock market crash thing. That was when the mob took over NYC, speakeasies thrived, and most importantly that was when Swing dancing was born in Harlem, NY. The young beautiful women would hang out at the jazz clubs and were known as "Flappers" or "Jazz Babies". I would give anything to be able to go back in time and visit one of those clubs

Its my second favorite US city!

Just the food alone is worth a vacation, but the history is amazing too.

The biggest surprise is the WWII museaum. I went for 2 hours and could have spent half a day. Very well laid out.
