Most the hotels that allow "by the hour rates" prefer that to an overnight. They make more money in the long run.

Just learn the layout of lobby and elevator from the provider and walk in like you own the place - hell throw a good morn, good afternoon or whatever at the clerk if they are there. I have walked into some 3 - 4 star hotels and actually found the front desk empty.

I am beginning to refuse any appointments set at the hourly places. I have used em in the past to freshen up, shower, maybe change when away from home on long drives, but in my own town, I am beginning to avoid them. Main reason is providers making me sit out there while they try to figure out whether to give me a room # or not, or when they wait for me to arrive before booking a room, which means am sitting in my car being visible with that security guy eyeing my car. Yep, if the place does not have corridors, am not going.

Everyone from LE to the Patels to neighbors knows that PIs are 1/3 truck drivers, 1/3 affairs, and 1/3 hookers. As long as there aren't drugs/pimps in the parking lot there is little to worry about. Remember the affairs aren't illegal and if they don't actually see the donation change hands you the hooker can just be "your secretary."

Now if the pimps are hanging in the cars in the lot - I bail.

In a nicer hotel, I always look for the lobby bathroom- then I have an excuse better than looking for the elevator. Never had a problem.

Just act like you own the place. Your awkward nervousness will draw more suspicion than your activity. 90% of people are busted because they act suspicious. Like someone earlier said, maybe this isn't your hobby. Then again, you are throwing cover for the rest of us. Carry on.

I have had a PI phobia lately. Been there dozens of times, but my spidey senses have been keeping me away from seeing my ATF.
Do you prefer getting the room and having the provider walk up and knock or do you prefer to walk up and knock?
Which way would you say is less conspicuous?

There is no reason to have PI phobia - as stated before most everyone there is doing something shady. Everyone knows it. It's the only reason they exist. Just follow simple rules - leave on time, 2 per room for standard rate, let the hooker get the room, etc.

If it bothers you too much - only see private incalls or out calls to your place.

I've rented nice rooms before for "business meetings" - check in at noon, see a lady in the afternoon, then go home. Go back in the morning for a 9 am session and check out by 11.

Expensive but I can legitimately do that and at least I am in control. The business-suite type of hotel is good for this.
