1. All Black Men Are Well-Endowed

Upon Googling “Black men big penis true?” you’ll find a range of references to an unemployed white man from Brooklyn named John Falcon, who’s apparently the proud owner of the world’s largest member.

Research however will tell you that there is in fact no truth to the debate about differences in size across the races. It is certainly not a guarantee that the next black man will outdo John Falcon in the size department.

2. They Don’t Like To Work

While Black men suffer from some of the highest rates of unemployment in America, psychologists will confirm that this is in no way related to choice. Men in general are hardwired to want to provide for their families and so will pursue any means possible to achieve that goal. ‘Not wanting to work’ is a negative stereotype of black men that is certainly not true in the grand majority of cases of unemployment.

3. Black Men Are Extremely Sexually Virile

Can we leave it at that? Who knows?

4. Black Men Are Great Athletes

Any major sporting event features an array of muscular, testosterone-filled men of all color.

5. Players

Popular urban culture and Hollywood have perpetuated the myth of the black man as a player. This is in fact not true of black men in particular. All human beings must actively resist polygamy in their lives because of the pressures of evolution, which tell us to procreate with as many people as possible, and society, which dictates that we remain faithful to our chosen partner.

6. Black Men Like White Women

Now this one depends largely on who you ask. Interracial marriage is on the rise in America and the perception that black men like white women may stem from the fact that it is becoming more socially acceptable and therefore more common. In the end, a man and a woman will be together for reasons of personal compatibility, not race.

7. Black Men Don’t Take Care Of Their Children

A good black man will be a wonderful father to his children no matter what the circumstances. The trick is to avoid those who might take the easy way out of hard circumstances – of these there are plenty and they’re all shapes, sizes and colors.

8. He’s Been In Jail

This stereotype is like a bad joke gone worse. Urban and pop cultures have played on this perception to the point that those unfamiliar with black people maintain some crazy ideas about our world.

9. Good At Dancing

The only reason people become known for dancing well is that one good mover can overshadow the 5 others who just escaped through the fire exit to avoid being pulled onto the dance floor.

The following by Leland Ware:

Many individuals who believe they have positive attitudes about racial minorities unconsciously harbor racial prejudices. This can cause individuals to engage in conduct that disadvantages minorities without consciously realizing they are doing so. The discrimination occurs when it is not obvious to the perpetrator or when they can point to a race-neutral justification for the actions. Some academics have labeled this phenomenon “colorblind racism.”

Prejudice and stereotypes are the byproducts of ordinary perceptions, categorization, learning, memory and judgment. Categorization is the process by which ideas and objects are recognized, differentiated and understood. It is an essential cognitive activity that enables individuals to reduce the enormous amounts of information they encounter every day to a manageable level.

Categorization allows individuals to relate new experiences to old experiences; the unfamiliar becomes familiar. Each object and event is perceived, remembered, grouped into a category and identified. The process is automatic and operates in milliseconds.

The categorization process can also trigger stereotypes: when an individual is seen as a member of a social group, perceptions about that groups’ characteristics and behavior influence judgments made about them. Stereotyping involves the creation of a mental image of a “typical” member of a particular category. Individuals are perceived as undifferentiated members of a group, lacking any significant differences from other individuals within the group.

When a particular behavior by a group member is observed, the viewer evaluates the behavior through the lens of the stereotype. This causes the observer to conclude that the conduct has empirically confirmed his stereotyped belief about the group. Stereotypes can be so deeply internalized that they persist in the face of facts that directly contradict the stereotype.

Leland Ware is the Louis L. Redding Chair and professor of law and public policy at the University of Delaware.

In short, it’s my personal opinion that many factors shape the way people, of our own or other races, conduct themselves: Demographics, Culture, Socioeconomics, etc. These factors apply to people of all colors. In other words; good people and garbage cans come in every color of the rainbow.

Furthermore, as brianjackson stated in his post: “One very obvious issue you over looked here. A certain 13% of the population has way more then its share of thugs”.

Personally, I wouldn’t put much credence into statistics that are very easily and very often manipulated.

Again, Demographics, Culture, Socioeconomics.

Absolutely, but why discriminate a race as a whole? There are certain people who I choose not to see all the time. But nothing to do with race in particular.

Thank you for your response! That's why I wanted options on this issue, because it gives me other peoples perspectives.

I know I probably read to much into the comments on the review, but I really try to put myself in other peoples shoes in situations like that. And in this situation, I couldn't imagine how I would feel being singled out solely because of my race. I guess I just have to realize that not everyone is going to have the same opinions as I do, as well as the same heart that I do.

Again AJ, thank you for the response. Its nice having another provides opinion, let alone a very experienced and mature provider. The best advice I received when entering this business was to take the good with the bad, and take everything with a grain of salt. As well as to grow some thick skin, because I used to let things get under my skin a lot further than they should've, such as this issue. Like you said its not affecting me, so I guess I should just turn the other way and focus on what I'm doing. Again thank you, and thanks for the advice! You are absolutely awesome!

In this situation, I'm surprised it bothers anyone because it is already in part assumable there has been some rejection experienced, and there are other choices. Getting wrapped up over a lady that won't take one's money is textbook folly.

But what about other situations? Have you put yourself in an uncomfortable situation where you're the only whitey?

Plus, you kids are almost overcooked on racial equality.

I agree to a certain extent: the first part was somewhat light-hearted, but I did, however, find it quite interesting how the human cognitive mind manages a lifetime of information by means of compartmentalizing recognized ideas and objects to process, differentiate, and understand.

Also, there’s some sociological dynamics at play that we didn’t even graze: nature vs. nurture, environment, etc.

At least you read the post, but the problem is you offer nothing to bolster your assessment.

Thanks for reading.

You're one cool cat, Daddy-O. If you dig it, man, that’s crazy.

Just don’t go ape on the chick at the flick or you're gonna get bugged out and blow the jets.

You'll get your kicks by makin' the scene. When ya split, just stable the iron and you'll have a gas if the chick don't nix the backseat bingo.

You'll be jazzin' man. You'll be swingin' like sixteen. Beatsville, man, beatsville.

I'll let you cop my bongos. Ya dig? It'll be crazy man. Crazy!!!

The ever-lovin' end!!!

Righteous!!!!!

Also, there’s some sociological dynamics at play that we didn’t even graze: nature vs. nurture, environment, etc.

At least you read the post, but the problem is you offer nothing to bolster your assessment.

Thanks for reading.

I think you are saying that there are a bigger percentage of black thugs then there are of other cultures because of certain conditions that are unigue to blacks..Maybe I am wrong..If so why would that matter at all. Do you think a provider or anyone else who is trying to stay safe should worry about why there are so many black thugs? Not me..

Maybe you are questioning the assumption that there are a bigger percentage of black thugs then there are in other races. Are you? If you don't think that true then say it now..
