Can be more easily be perceived by the recipient of the action. You don't have to be called one to be one......I feel like a whore when I am used/taken advantage of. When someone pretends to be my friend and then when my use
to them is over and they ignore me, I feel used, thus a Whore. They need me when they are down, I freely give of myself, and when their circumstances change and they are on top of the world, they ignore me. Now, am I the whore because I was used, or did the WHORE use ME ?????

Guess it doesn't really matter, but if you are gonna be one, at least be a good one.

Mentioned Courtesan, and I agree there are few. There are those that insist on being paid, and once they are I think they find it hard to ever give it away again. Those are the true prostitutes or if you prefer, Whores.....the courtesan is a girl who actually gives of herself, and I truly believe not just for the money. I have connected with several over the years, actually cared about their welfare and many thought enough of our bonding to refuse the money.
