WHY the galleria area
Why is all of the action in the Galleria area? The roads are all torn up on I-635 and traffic is down to a crawl. For me to drive in from the mid cities I spend a great amount of time setting in traffic. Has any one given thought to the north west side of Dallas?

The "northwest" side of Dallas would essentially be Irving, which isn't the most favorable place to be. While the traffic is rough right now, even with it-- the Galleria area and the area just north of it along the George Bush is still the overall easiest safe area to be in.

Grace I go up there because all of the popular ladies are there but damn it's a hell of a drive. I am now connected into the Fort Worth mid cities forum and will start finding ladies where I don't have to spend more time on the road then I do BCD.

Market Center, Stemmons around the World Trade Center, tollway north of 635, Uptown, Six Flags in Arlington, hotels up on Midway in Addison and Beltline.
Been to these areas several times over the last 7 years, never had a problem.
But...even a blind pig finds a joyride sometimes.

That IS why... Everything is dirt cheap(rent/hotels) in that area right now because of the construction... and the name still has cache'

Ugh...is it really that bad around the Galleria? I was thinking of coming up there later tonight and I ALWAYS stay near the Galleria on the weekends. During the week I stay downtown, but it's boring on the weekends.
Any suggestions?

Are you speaking of the Galleria area in Dallas or in Houston?
I've always thought that Poontang Alley (Dallas Tollroad/Addison) was vastly over rated as a place to hang your hat as an escort, so to speak.
But I have to admit, it's a damn popular area.
If I had to do it all over again, I would pick uptown or near downtown.
It would be a fun change!!!
IF someone didn't wish to drive all of the way to see me, I would be willing to meet him half way, or drive further in his direction, if I had a wee bit of an incentive to do so!
Hugs,
Elisabeth

I was talking about Dallas. And I was talking about the weekend. It just always seems convenient for shopping, etc.
I do like the Palomar and the Warwick Melrose, too...though not sure about the weekends.
I actually HATED the W last time I was there.

With the new forum us guys in Fort Worth, Arlington can find the ladies in our area. In the past the Dallas ladies posted in the western areas but in fact they worked in Dallas. Now they can't post in the FT. Worth Euless and Arlington section. If I go to ECCIE or P-411 and request a near by provider I find after minutes of research that most are really in Dallas.

People do what they do because they have done it, or see everyone else doing it. Not because it makes any sense.

I no longer have a reason to travel north in real life, so I sympathize to some extent. I am seeing more women advertise in Market Center and downtown Dallas than I remember in the past...and trust me, I keep up with available inventory in that part of town. Uptown doesn't seem quite as popular, however (I'm talking really in Uptown, not ladies claiming to be there who actually are on the fringes).
Galleria is still the most popular location, and likely will remain that way for some time. Fortunately, there does appear to be a little more diversity developing.
I also suspect that the availability of reasonably priced upscale rental property and hotel rooms is far greater in Dallas than the mid-cities. I know I have a hard time thinking of comparable properties in Arlington to some of the nice pads I've visited in Dallas.
