Your posts are always interesting, but I'm not quite understanding what you're saying here, Hun...when Sam asked "what's a homegirl"...I didn't take my brain pill this evening lol. Honestly, I didn't think anyone still or would use that term unless around people in a certain - how you say, environment, not when referring to your business. I could say it's her age, but my GF BSB is only 21...very professional.

Ahhh I see, and I totally agree. It's a bit bizarre for someone even her age to be using that term (sooo 1990's)...friend, girlfriend, driver, anything but "homegirl" - and on a hobby board?? LOL. She seems to use the term a lot.

Seriously. "Homegirl" is some mystical slang term? I hear younger girls of all races use that term. Some of you really need to leave the nursing home every once in a while. When you know women in their 20's you don't have to pay to be around you, you'd know it's a pretty common term of endearment.

I haven't met any of my college educated white female friends that use such a term nor infact when I think about it, none of my college educated female friends of any race.
I will add though, I don't think such a term taken alone is enough evidence to label someone as pimped nor is having a female driver although in this day and age anything could happen so why worry about what someone does or how they handle their affairs if it doesn't affect you... Why even care.

I suspect that college or even completion of high school is not a common trait with providers.

Interestingly, a google of the term might give weight to another viewpoint as regards commonality.

Of course, I might also point out that you are probably rather narrowly defining "common".

In my experience it is common and becoming more common as the term percolates up from the ghettos. But yes, not nearly as common in the college educated crowd.
