We get the stupidest fucking weather in America. 105 every day in the summer... No rain for months. Lakes (yes, THAT LAKE) drying up and shit. Flash floods with dead people in the fall and now, freezing shit. NOrth .texas will get 9 inches of snow.

I'm going out tonight in shorts and a t-shirt. it'll be 35 tomorrow.

I have two different jobs scheduled, then rescheduled because its on the fucking roofs of some buildings and we don't like the lightning and freezing rain. Have to finish one before Christmas break and it aint looking good. The only good thing is it will be cloudy and raining and probably wont freeze hard till the skies clear.

The a/c is on tonight and the heater will be on tomorrow. If it wasn't so damn hot and humid I would open the windows and listen to the Mexican polka music in the hood.

It's really conjunto, and yes, it's Tex-Mex polka.

It's really more German style polka than Czech or Polish. But Texas, particularly Central Texas, is Polka Heaven.

I have a Los Lobos (great band, btw) station on Pandora. I was listening to it recently and my gf made the comment, "what the hell are you listening to now, polkas?" LOL Hell yeah!

I believe the style is called Norteño.

My first trip to Dallas was about 20yrs ago. We went to a local bar. It was a big place with a huge dance floor. When the music started, everyone got up and started dancing around in a big circle. I'm thinkin, this looks like a Yinzer, McKees Rocks polka dance. Except everyone was wearing Cowboy hats and boots. And they didn't serve pirogues.
