You may have stated this already, but I missed it as I read this thread...do you store any of you hobby data on the device you use in your "real life"? I've never had the two sides mix, and I have not signed up for LI (yet) because I'm paranoid about just such a scenario as you're describing. I'm following this thread with great interest, however, as I have been contemplating establishing a real world LI account.
I save no hobby information on any of my computers, phones, etc. I don't access any hobby account with apps that I use for RW purposes. I use web interfaces and private settings for all hobby activities. That seems to have worked for me over the years, but am always concerned I may be missing something.

I'm not as careful as you, TinMan. I don't have a smartphone -- and can barely text on the one I have -- so there's no crossover there.
But I do use one computer and one browser for everything. I'm pretty scrupulous about saying "no" to all requests for an application to access my contacts, and, as I said, don't maintain contact lists (under the SL address or otherwise) on the web, and 2) haven't had any contact with girl #1 in probably seven years and girl #2 in three. And the ex-fiance? I recognized his name and occupation, but was most certainly never in contact with him, 15 years ago or since.

I think they triangulate via 2nd or 3rd level email connections.

I once had someone with the same name as an ex-gf from 10+ years ago show up. How they managed that I can't figure out.

Well, if you're not using privacy mode on your browser, I suspect that is the conduit for the crossover.

Did you ever use a RW account for hobby activities, even if it was brief or a long time ago? I know when I briefly experimented with a hobby Facebook account, I picked up friend requests from providers that retired ten years earlier but had made the error of using their RW email account for hobby activities.

You can delete pending-unanswered invites from you sent mailbox, if they accepted it, you simply delete them from your connections list

Another reason that I am glad that I deleted my LinkedIn account.

Nope. RW accounts are via my ISP; hobby account is Yahoo!. I used Outlook for RW e-mail, the web for hobby.

I have had several instances where I had invites to guys linkedin profile. I hit delete, I don't even go to see who it is. There is no way I want to be linked to any of you guys. Crazy because it's to my hobby email too. I can't imagine a corporate gentleman wants linked to Sami. I don't need any drama or trouble from a SO.
