Ginger, reach up over the license plate under the trunk lid, there are usually a few buttons hidden to open the trun if the doors are unlocked.

Years ago I thought my bass amp had issues, even took it into a store for a looksie.
Bottom line it was a 9 volt battery in the bass guitar that ran out of juice.
There was nothing wrong with the amplifier at all.
