David Stern, who I think is the best commissioner in pro sports should have had an investigation at that time as it was obvious - even for a league that pushes its superstars.
I expect Rick Adelman to eventually address it after he retires from coaching.

I agree, Neil. All 4 events were good and entertaining.
Dunks can be redone, you just gotta LOOK GOOD doing them. That's why I think guys with the right height for it (6'2"-6"8") should participate in it more. Seems like lately there's too many 7 footers and too many midgets in it. Dunking at 5'7" looks good, but there's only so many dunks lil men can do, and when they miss, it looks bad. 7 footers have to work too hard on creativity. The event itself has limitations, yet people want to see something more out of this world than they saw last time. It's kind of a double edged sword when it comes to dunks because people will criticize players for being great dunkers and not great players. But for one weekend out of year they want them to be the greatest dunkers that ever lived.

Prime example of my point. The Kings were on the way to an upset on the lakers. But, the league wanted Boston/Lakers. The kings had the lakers by the balls that series was over in that game. They were down double digits in the last 20 mins......with all the mulitple technicals and BS fouls...........After the game the kings wanted to say something about the refs in the interview but didn't want to get fined. Hell, I would have let the chips fall and called it what it was. You had to be blind to not see that game/series was fixed.

McGee did quite well for a 7 footer (hard to make dunks look flambouyant at that height), though he seemed to have exhausted his creativity by the time he got to the finals. This contest is best suited for guys somewhere in the middle area height around 6'4", 3-4 inches in both directions, a bit wiry and with good ups.
It got a little long with the showmanship stuff, but overall one of the better dunk contests.

I actually thought McGee beat Griffin....which shocked the hell out me. As a life-long fan of Lez Boulez / Les Wizardables...that was was more style/personality than McGee has shown his entire career in Washington.
All that "nonsense" that went along with Griffin's dunks were just that...nonsense. If NBA "All Star Weekend" hadn't already "jumped the shark"...it certainly did with that. But, the league had SO drilled into everyone's head that nobody but Griffin was capable of winning...they turned it into a self-fulfilling prophesy...

Me too
The NBA All-Star weekend is strictly for entertainment purposes, that's it, that's all, nothing else.
If you go into it looking for a good competitive game from the worlds best players you will be sorely disappointed...

1. We are the 2-time NBA champs ( unlike your sorry punk ass Steelers).. Lmao!!!
2. Kobe is still the BEST player in the NBA (& of course won MVP of the all star game AGAIN) !!! Lol

I don't believe it was ever banned in the NBA, just college on down. It was mainly banned in college due to Kareem Jabbar (or Lew Alcindor at the time). Of course it was a blessing for Jabbar...it made him a better more agile player. It became legal in NCAA again around 1976. I agree with everything else you wrote though.

If they'd banned it in Shaq's heyday he would've had a 5 year career.

Lol, spoken like a true Kobe hater...lmao! I dont think my post mentioned anything about Kobe being better than MJ. Personally, I think MJ is the best player I ever got to see. But Kobe is right up there with him in every category. It's a pointless discussion that has been debated for years, but the only people who won't admit Kobe's greatness are 2 types of people: those who don't understand basketball or stupid haterz...lol
But Kobe does have one thing over his Airness that is indisputable: Kobe came into the NBA straight from high school. Jordon went to college for 3 years. Lastly, Kobe will be closing in on tying Jordon's ring total of 6 as soon as we get this next one...lol
As far as the dunk contest, I liked it. Those guys did some sick dunks and although I don't think Blake should have won, that guy is one sick individual who will be a superstar & unstoppable very shortly....

Stern can't investigate. He is behind the shadiness in the league. He is all about making money. The league will do what they can to ensure an LA and Cleveland NBA finals this year.
And you're right. Game 5 in that Lakers and Kings series was fixed. The Kings got away with many calls that game.

Big word. I'm a Laker fan but Shaq had no other move beside the dunk. If he had a decent jumper and a hook of some sort he would easily be the NBA alltime leader in points scored.
