Wow, sorry you were put in a position to feel you had to post such personal information. I hope you take care of your gall bladder though. Any doctor would tell you...you really don't want it to go bad hon.

Well said.
I as well had gal bladder issues.
Get it removed it is not as scary as you think, and you will be glad you did.

Brooke, first of all, good luck with this. You know, these days getting the GB out can be a fairly simple proceedure. If they can do it via scope, then it's just a tiny little opening, that honestly could be covered with a bandaid. Of course, if they can't and they have go in with standard entry proceedures, it's obviously a lot more serious. But either way, we have the best healthcare in the world, no matter what President Utopia says, and you will be fine.
Don't hesitate to let us know if you need anything.

Wish I knew a way to take the fear away but I don't. I will point out that everything is better if there is no rush and since you know you will have to have this procedure anyway, why not make sure it is not done as an emergency procedure. Best of luck. For a youngster like yourself your recovery should be swift indeed.

Brooke, take care of your health especially if insurance/cost is not of issue. Too bad you had to disclose this. No one's business but yours.....

Best of luck to you whichever way you decide but I'd always put my long term health above anything else. Again, best wishes...

Brooke, sorry to hear that you're having medical issues. That sucks. It's always scary when the Docs want to operate and you're the subject. They're professionals and they know what they're doing so try to relax about it and realize that your problem isn't going to fix itself and it's not going to get any better putting it off. This is surgery and there are risks, sure; but it's relatively minor as far as surgeries are concerned, so let them do what they need to do and you can get better.
Just keep telling yourself, "No bitter burps. Yay!!"
I *can* let you in on a little secret of mine when dealing with your Dentist/Orthodontist, though. When he (the DDS...this works best if he's a male) comes up to you and you're laying back in the chair, as soon as he moves in to take a look inside your mouth, reach up and get a good hold of his package. Just grab a whole handful of his junk...and hold it, then, look him square into his eyes and tell him, "We're not going to hurt each other are we?"
...then just keep holding your 'pain-free insurance' until he's finished doing what he's got to do.
Trust me, works like a charm.
Good luck and I'm sending well wishes your way.
All the best,
SKF
ps...does the gall bladder have anything to do with memory loss?? overlooked appt. requests on P411? Anything?? Just wonderin'...
.

Brooke,
How responsible and pro-active of you to speak out and remove this issue from speculation. Nothing to be embarassed about and a bad gall bladder could happen to anyone. Fortunately, surgeons have made miraculous progress in this procedure. Surely, your Dr. would not advise sedation if there were any contra-indicators. Take care of you, girl.

Had the same problem, wish I had the simple surgery much earlier. Recovery was quick and was not that dehibilating. The down side of pushing it off is that it will have to come out anyway so why suffer. If you push it off too long you could get pancretits, which I had and that is very serious and a whole lot more painful. Word of encouragement consider it no worse than going to the dentist and having major dental work done as the result of the bile that you expell during the unfortunate bouts of sickness. Good luck and hope the next word is i made the appointment for surgery.

I hope everything goes well for you and too bad you had to disclose a private issue here like this. Just be sure to care of yourself and good luck. You handled this situation in a very professional and direct manner.
