Default Confirmed appointments??

What constitutes a confirmed appointment? I see guys post NC/NS when it appears there was never an actual appointment set. Less often a provider may post as well. So what does it require?

I see the following as common eliments needed to consider it a confirmed appointment:

Time, date, and general location are agreed to by both parties, preferably in writing
Any additional followup/ last minute confirmation contacts are agreed to by both parties
Instructions on how to proceed to the meeting location are agreed to by both parties
Best way to cancel if needed by either party is agreed to by both parties

Example:
We will meet at 6:PM on Tuesday. Be at the intersection or general area of Plano Raod and 75 at 5:45 and text the provider for the specific address. If she does not respond by 6:00PM, its considered a NC/NS. If she does not her from him by 5:45, its considered a NC/NS. A confirmation text or phone call at 5:00 by the guy is expected to make sure no last minute issues have come up. Not receiving that confirmation contact from the client by 5:15 will be taken as a cancelation by the client. Not responding back to that contact within 10 minutes will be taken as the session is canceled by the provider. If something happens that prevents either party from attending, a followup contact is expected ASAP.

Over the top? Yes. And, no I have never actualy had that detailed of a meet setup. But it illistrates what things can be covered to to reduce misunderstandings

What do you consider needed to have a confirmed appointment?

just those. and in whatever medium [email, eccie pm, p411 msg, text, voice, skywriting, etc.]

it's a plus for both sides to state a confirm-by time frame, esp if this is the first meeting.

another plus is for the woman to have completed all her screening before committing to the appt. and preferably a day or two before the appt.
a few times, the woman asked for references the night before the appt, even when i gave her info in my first communication. i ended discussions of a possible appt.

Thumbs up

As a provider, I wait until the client says "yes" to a date and time before the appointment is confirmed. If he never says yes to a date and time, the appointment was never confirmed.

For clients, I recommend waiting for the provider to say "yes" to a date and time before thinking the appointment is confirmed. If she never says yes to a date and time, the appointment was never confirmed.

Both saying yes to a date and time means the appointment is confirmed.

That's it.

It sucks when a client and provider end up....

General location. If you are only willing to drive so far or if certain information is needed to determine the points above, then this should be discussed before giving the "yes." But other than that, I don't think a location is required for two people to know whether or not their date is on.

Last minute confirmation. I don't consider confirming last minute as a step required in determining whether or not a date was confirmed. Confirming last minute is a precautionary measure to ensure the other person hasn't forgotten about an already confirmed date. In other words, a last minute confirmation is an extra step a person can take to double check that nothing has come up that would interfere with their already confirmed date. I personally don't need follow up confirmations, I just ask to be notified if our date needs moved.

Instructions on how to proceed. I don't need this to determine if my date is really really really confirmed. If both parties assume "yes" to a date and time means appointment confirmed, then discussing a meeting location would be the natural progression.

Canceling. I think a date can be confirmed without either party having discussed the proper way to cancel. It is polite to always provide as much notice as possible when an appointment needs to be cancelled, but I'm not sure I would need to know the best way to cancel in order to determine whether or not my appointment is confirmed.

Some things can be very helpful/good to know in advance.

If the answers to certain questions may result in a yes becoming a no, then those are the questions that should be asked before the yes is ever given.
