Ever happened to you?

Ok so this is a question that I have just out of curiosity.

Even though I have been out taking a break I still keep in close touch with a few favorite clients. Weird I know but these three had the same exact experience concerning three completely different providers.

That awkward moment where you get a text out of the blue from a provider asking for money and or loans.

Do you find it unprofessional? Do you find it acceptable? Does this keep you from wanting to see them again in the future? Would this make you feel the need to warn others?

Personally I think talking about money is tacky. I think I would feel more uncomfortable asking then the person / client.
But then again I was surprised to hear such different takes on the same situation from three individuals.

Anyone care to share if this has happened to you? Or your opinion on it if it were to be in that situation?

If I did give a loan out cant say I would admit it. Every chick you know would ask you for a loan after that.

Some have asked. I usually tell them no. With one, I offered to compensate her for an appointment in return. Oddly enough she declined. Guess she wasn't that hard up...

I have loaned money to providers and strippers, from time to time. I have loaned money to friends before.

EVERY stripper paid me back in full! I know, pretty amazing. Not one of them ever asked if they could pay me back in trade, with dances or whatever

About 1/2 of my "friends" paid me back - the rest, well they really aren't friends anymore.

Now providers - for some reason they have been totally different.

One provider I like, I will advance her a session fee - or 2 --she ALWAYS calls to schedule the payback session and she is always great

One Provider has taken over a year to pay back in sessions - she is always nice, and usually "credits" me for the session, although sometimes she would ask for $ - but she too paid me back in full

EVERy other provier has stiffed me. Most would promise to pay something next week or whenever. Some would promise make up sessions - ALL of the remaining providers are just cheats. Most times my calls just went to voice mail with no retirn.

When I "Loaned" money to these ladies, I always assumed I would get nothing in return. They convinced me they really needed the money, and I agreed - I am a big boy and could afford to do it.

I suspect for most providers ASKING to borrow money is hard and not done lightly.

Some of course are just scammers - and it is hard to tell the difference sometimes.

BUT if you loan anyone money, and you EXPECT to get it back....then I agree with the above, you are a fool.

I recently advanced a session worth to one of my regulars. In the days following she was very eager and accommodating in scheduling our session which was paid up.

I spotted another provider a few bucks and gas. Every time I mention it or any kind of session for payment, she clams up and I don't hear from her for a few days. Well, she's cut off completely now and I don't talk to her at all. I never really expected anything from her anyway. I figured she'd flake out.

My experience has been a little different. Since I joined ASPD in Jan of 2001, I have never been asked for a loan. Guess I never have seemed that flush.

But, I did have a traveling provider call me once when she was gonna be in my town. I told her I was running short on play money right then. When she arrived, she had some free time, called and invited me over. Said she would run a tab until her next visit. We had a very good visit and I settled up with her on her next trip. With interest. So, she came out of it very well. Of course, we had met 15 or 20 times before that.

And before anyone asks, she is retired now.

We're in a business where it's incredibly easy to make money, so it's always odd to me to see this come up. That said, there could be health issues involved that would prevent a lady from working; I would imagine the majority of providers do not have health insurance. In that case, a little charity may be in order.

I never loan money, but if I see a true need, I may make a gift from time to time. Loans are rarely repaid, and owed money causes strain on relationships. Before I give, I always ask myself if the relationship is more valuable to me than the money I might give, because one or the other will be gone depending on my expectations.
