Okay... Normally I would just go to AMPs. Thus, no reference. Somehow, some ladies here has piqued my interest. Is it a good practice to set-up a pre-session meet-up (at a rate)? I mean, you meet at a public place, maybe over dinner or something and let the ladies judge if you are trustworthy or not, in lieu of reference. Of course, you are paying for the ladies' time. What are the pros and cons? Hoping to to hear from both gents and ladies. Thanks!

If their willing sure but you will be hard pressed to convince most to partake. I would just work my way thru the newbie friendly ones.

i have done it before, it works out great for me. also it cuts down on wasted time and money if the chemistry is not there and such.

Sounds like paying for a session without getting a session. Why don't you just get a date? Tough deal to have sex with a lady to get a reference or see if you have chemistry. Jump in the waters fine!

sanantonioman said it best... since you are "paying".. get references through newbie friendly providers. That would be the easiest in my opinion.

FC: GREAT post!!! I am glad you are interested in escorts. I am sure most ladies would agree to a paid lunch. However, lets say you offer her 50 bucks to have lunch and the bill is 30. You just spent 80 bucks "just to get cleared of newbie status."

Want MY opinion?

Head over to the preferred-411 or date-check websites. Your annual fee is like 70 dollars. They do a confidential screening process. I know ladies (including myself) who will see "screened" newbie gentlemen from these sites. Sometimes, different ladies might require that you have X number of "okays", just check with her to see what she requires.

Here is a big PLUS: you can do a search on preferred-411/date-check to see who offers discounts by utilizing these services. If a gentleman contacts me through p-411 or D-C, I give him 10% off the session.

I think that this may be a way to get your foot in the door, with her, so to speak. I have done it before. Of course, I understand that this is a YMMV situation however it can work. I don't know if I would make it a practice with everyone that you may want to see, but if you hobby infequently and she is in agreement then it should not be an issue.

This strategy can backfire. I did this once because I had developed an infatuation with a certain provider's pic. But I had no references but she did agree to meet me at a Starbucks to check me out. I paid her whatever her normal rate was. We talked, made an appointment for the next day or so. I got a nice hotel--$150 or so. Waited, waited, waited. She never showed. When I finally got ahold of her a day or two later and asked what happened--she said, and I quote--"nothing. I just didn't show up."

Of course, this did not sit well with me. But, my point, is I think she thought that if I would go to all that trouble and expense to meet her, maybe I really was LE. It would have been nice if she could have been honest and told me she was still hesitant to meet, but she was young and I could see where that might make her reluctant.

Well I don't have a lot of refrences either and I prefer to have a reliable ATF so I am willing to give this a try. Who knows the worst thing is I was some time and maybe a little $.

I met with a gent before to have some drinks and break the ice- Its a great method and seemed to work fine. We definetely broke the ice and we were a lot more comfortable with one another.

My only problem is what if a gent who's really interested in seeing you and doesnt have proper screening info wants to meet with you or a drink to break the ice?? He could be LE or worse-crazy!! One thing I see good is meeting at a public place would be great, if not for anybody else but yourself but a bad thing is people are good actors so you could still be in trouble right?

I think most providers would have a similar mindset as Jaleh. If it works out for you and the provider/providers you are interested in than, fantastic and good fortune.
Also Brittanys advise is solid gold, p411 and date check. One of the best investments you can make in the hobby world.
Lets hear from more providers and get their take on this topic. Then from there use your judgment to decide the best possible course of action for you.

Wow! Thanks for the great and varied insights! I am learning a lot. I really appreciate all the input. Well, as a noob, I have a lot of insecurities. I understand p411, but I am wary of the background check. Are they going to call my home, work? Not sure how intrusive this would be. Maybe "investment" is the wrong term, but I really don't mind having a nice dinner and conversation with a beautiful lady to break the ice. This is also fantasy, right? Even if this doesn't lead to sex right away, there is always the thrill of the anticipation. I guess, at this point, I am also looking for peace of mind, not just for the ladies but for myself. Again, thank you all for your insights.

Most ladies offer a dinner and date rate... that may work out for you.

I know that before I take an overnight appointment I require a pre-date. All I require is a deposit on the overnight rate ... and don't charge for the meeting before hand. But you must be mindful on the ladies time that she is taking for this pre date .. date lol

I think if she is ok with it then it should be fine. The problem you may run into is that some providers have So's themselves and have to be discreet out in public as well.

I mean even if her so knows about her "work" (which is a good idea), if a friend of his sees her at lunch with an unknown man ... questions may arise.

Bad idea.

A provider cannot safely screen a gent who's never seen a provider (aka newbie). Just by going out for a me & drinks.

Any cop, stalker, rapist & such can put on a happy face & come across as the sweetest man on earth. Until your alone behind a locked door with him and either arrested or worse.

Another thing about said public meet & greet. They could easily watch your arrival or departure from said venue. Garner your information and stalk you. Yes, there are some crazy men out there who will go to great length to cause harm & stalk a provider. We have a few well known men in this community whom have done such to our SA ladies.
There's other reasons why I feel meeting newbie in public is a bad idea. I'll post those elsewhere.

Offering dinner dates to those who have references & been screened. Is not in anyway the same as meeting a newbie in public who has zero provider references.
