You really seem paranoid , first it was all the LE threats , now a 80% syphilis rate ( which I might add sounds like complete bullshit ) . I hear Tampa is lovely this time of year .
I was thinking the same thing, you can't bag on our city & expect support from this community, maybe ANOTHER retirement is in your future. Saftey is paramount wherever you are, despite the current rate of supposed diseases.
Even using worst case scenario stats, according to the cdc if you take into account the published numbers for 2011 adding in the increase, were still ONLY at about 20 cases per every 100,000 people. That comes to about .02%
I know the article is a couple of years old, but anyone with a good imagination and that can add or subtract years can fully understand how STD's can be spread across the country.

Look, there is an inherent risk in this behavior. Yes, syphilis is up in our city. It is up to each and everyone of us to decide if we wish to partake in this hobby. It is our individual responsibility to be sure we are safe when we play.
If you wish to depart our city, then I fair thee well. I hope that you go to a city that has a healthier demographic.
The syphillis rate is on a massive increase all over the US.
One year in my area it was up by 300%
Keep in mind the largest demographic for this increase in all areas of the country is black poor females between the ages of 15-25. If your pool of sex partners includes those who tap into this demographic you would still be at risk.

I agree with what JJ is opinionating..but HONESTLY how many Hobbiest & Ladies will and are going to be responsible in making sure that they are safe to participate in the hobby..as it is also very important and our resposibility that WE practice safe sex to make sure that WE will not take it back to our Families ( SO, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends etc...etc..)
