Not lost...He is simply on a different journey now, to infinity and beyond. He did amazing things while he was here. Cheers to an American LEGEND! Thanks Neil!

He was a hero of mine. My dad worked in the space program and I will never forget the day he came home in tears when Grissom, White & Chaffee died in the fire and how elated he was when Armstrong stepped on the moon. Even today he still speaks of those heady days when everyone worked together in the space program.

God bless all of those guys! They are truly made of the right stuff!

As a kid growing up during the sixties, I idolized the all of the Astronauts. I followed the space program through the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions. I can remember teachers in school letting us watch all the various missions on TV as a science lesson most of us would never forget. I think all of us who were alive on July 20, 1969 watched on TV as Neil Armstrong stepped out of the Lunar Module onto the moon, and then we all went outside to gaze at the moon and imagine what it would be like to be on the moon like Neil! RIP Neil Armstrong..........you definately are a True American Hero!

@Rakhir.....I would like to thank your dad.......it was a team effort! I bet he has some interesting memories of those days!

It was a different time.

I can't say I have or experienced any of the team effort feeling that the times of the late 60's and 70's had today.
