Mars Rover Curiosity To Land By August
Is anyone else planning on watching the Mars Rover Curiosity land on Mars by August 6th?
It has been an expensive endeavor at $2.5 Billion and already $1 Billion over budget, but it
promises to be a thing of beauty when it finally lands next month.
It will have traveled over 350 million miles on the journey and if all goes well, provide footage of the parachute landing.
. . . I can't wait!

Spelling Lesson
I understand, there will also be a spelling lesson for the slow learners after the Mars landing.
. . . But there's some proviso about old dogs and new tricks!

Mars Mission
The purpose of the mission is to explore the red planet in the hopes of finding microorganisms and possibly evidence of water now or in the past and evidence of life if we get lucky.
The Rover Curiosity has numerous drills, probes, scoops and high definition cameras and different means to analyze soil samples.
. . . There have been over 40 missions attempted to Mars but over half of them have failed, but this baby is almost there now - after hauling her fine ass for 352,000,000 miles!

Yes, they did. During the Spirit and Opportunity missions.
And Opportunity is still going at it up there nearly nine years after it was launched.
