I hobbied in many countries and a whole bunch in the US and there is one thing that I never understood. Why do I always get asked if I am married? And then if I answered no, the next question is almost always if I have a girlfriend?

What's the purpose of the question? Am I supposed to say "Yes! I am cheating?" does anyone ever believe me when I say no?

I can see if its something a regular asks after a few encounters because you build a friendship.

But on a first encounter... thats just strange. I knew i lady long time ago, she used to get off by being fingered with the ring finger. She said the feeling of a wedding band entering her would make her gush.

Been asked a lot myself. With Indy's always felt it was just conversation. At amps I kinda get the feeling they're looking for WKs to carry them away. I have a friend who got into a relationship with a t-road girl for a few years that way.

It sounds like these ladies need to either shut up and don't say anything or learn better conversational skills. Who cares if you are married? Not us! I don't want to remind you of that. I also don't care what you do for work. If I asked you those two questions I would feel like I need to know everything else. Social security number, date of birth, moms maiden name, etc. Obviously they are just dingbats with nothing else to talk about. I'd much rather talk about the weather.
