What did he do the wrong? He should have let the guy finish raping his daughter while he watched and dialed the police?

Did you hear the 911 call he made after? He was horrified; he didn't mean to kill the guy. He was honest and didn't try to make up a story about self defense, but was defending his child. According to the letter of Texas law he was within his rights to use deadly force. Any man would have beat the living daylights out of the sick bastard. The fact that he died from the consequences of committing such a heinous act was justifiable.

I say he forfeited his right to life the moment he got naked and erect in a 5-year-old's presence. (Not sure I'm allowed to say that on here.)

I don't think a grand jury would have indicted him, even if he had admitted that he deliberately beat the rapist to death, not in Texas. The vast majority of people agree that justice was done in this case.

The sad truth is, that if the child rapist in this case, had been arrested, instead of being beaten to death, he would have served a few years and been released. The likelyhood is that he would have victimized more children. Pedophiles never stop being pedophiles, the only cure is death.

Yep. Child molesters cannot be "cured," only segregated from the rest of society, castigated, or eliminated. The third option is definitely the safest.

Not that I think we should all go "vigilante" and hunt them down, but in this case, this was the best outcome. Who are we, who did not have all of the evidence presented to us, to question the grand jury?

As far as the accidental killing of the child rapist. What a tragedy that the rapist was not able to face trial. It is a shame that a rapists neck is so easily snapped. May he relive that moment in hell for all eternity.

As far as what happened; the law is very clear on this. The grand jury followed the law.
