He probably did not show well in a half court offense. The Knicks are running and gunning every chance with D'Antonio's offense. Fast break offense can mask lack of talent.

He's pretty good..but watching him closely, I'm not sure he can keep it up. It will be interesting to see how he does when teams start game planning for him. Also what happens when Carmelo and Stoudamire gets back and they want the ball all the time. He has some skills.

In fairness, the Rockets aren't the only one...we just cut him on Christmas Day is all.

I knew he would be pretty good when he schooled John Wall in Summer League, but there always seemed to be a couple people in front of him on the depth chart EVERYWHERE he went. Even in NY, it took Baron Davis recovering, Toney Douglas struggling, and Iman Shumpert slumping before he got a look- and they're STILL saying it's Baron Davis's job.

Lin has always been talented, but he's never impressed the execs enough. Even now, they're still unimpressed because they have Melo and Amare for big money tied down- and Lin has not worked on distributing the ball too much. That's what happens when you keep getting cut, you HAVE to be about yourself because there's no other way you'll make it. It could be why he never made the cut on other teams, too self-centric.

At least the Rockets had Lowry and Dragic when they got rid of Lin. I don't get how the Warriors let him go. The Warriors have a need for a legit point guard.

They didn't really see what Lin could do. Plus he has been known for having alot of turnovers. He needs to work on his ball control. He is the toast of NYC now. But, those ball control issues will be his down fall unless he gets control of it.

You can't blame the Rockets for releasing Lin. He signed with Golden State where he did nothing. They cut him. He played for a while on the Dallas D-League team, was picked up by the Rockets. They wanted to keep him but the numbers just did not work. They had too many guarantee contracts so they let him go. Besides with Lowery he was not going to play a lot. He signed with the Knicks. He was 2 DAYS FROM BEING RELEASED BY THE KNICKS! Someone got hurt and they had no choice but to play him and the rest is history. You can't pin this on the Rockets.

@ Big Louie.. yeah I agree can't blame the Rockets. They've been doing well finding diamonds in the ruff, so to speak. I hope we will get back to our star spangled line up and hear over whelming roars from the crowd when "and the Rockets' red glare..." is sung during the National Anthem...

Lowry is becoming a favorite of mine mainly because of his relentless effort. If he can stay healthy and polish his game a little more, I think he has potential to become a star.

Samuel Dalembert I think is one of those diamonds in the ruff. His game needs a lot of work but shows potential. I don't know if it's conditioning or what, but his off nights are WAY OFF. This drives my nerves a little.

With a new coach and different look with no major star, I doubt the Rockets will have a shot at the Finals or even going deep in the playoffs. However, I do like their drive and think they just might get in as a bottom seed. I'm a life-long fan though so I'll continue to root for them and go to games when I get a chance. This Wednesday vs OKC, hopefully will be a good one against a team whom I think will rep the West this year in the Finals.

As for my comments about Kobe, just for the record, I was a hater but after watching Spike Lee's ESPN special Kobe Doin' Work it got me to appreciate him more as I never knew that he was as good as a coach as he was a player. Satin, if you remember what I said about having my doubts about Mike Brown, that's why. Kobe likes to play the Coach's role and Phil Jackson was able to let Kobe and MJ, for that matter, take the periodic role in play-calling/coaching when he saw fit. I don't know if Mike Brown will let him do that as well. The vice I had originally came from an interview I saw featuring his buddy T-Mac, who'd spend a lot if time with Kobe in the off-season, and T-Mac stated Kobe told him he's not the next MJ, but is actually better. Its one thing to be confident, but to me he shows lack of respect for other players at times especially in his early years (perhaps origin of the beef between he and Shaq). But regardless the Lakers surely are Kobe's team...Sorry for getting off topic fellas, just thought I'd share...
