Excepting of the "Who's in town and how good are they" type of posts and alerts, I'm pretty sure every question a newbie could possibly consider has been posted and answered about 47,000 times.

Here's my personal newbie rules: (Which are really just paraphrases of stuff already posted)
1) Search is your friend
2) Stickies are your friend
3) STFU and read the entire thread is your friend
4) Take the time to learn your Eccie-isms
5) If the top four fail you and you make a post only to find the replies are dominated by animated kitten GIFs, FACEPALMs, Demotived posters, smileys eating popcorn and Can I Haz Cheezerburger images, reread rules 1-4 above.
6) Do not post while butthurt. It's the raison d'être for a lot of these guys.
