Gaza cease fire - phased peace agreement
Who is keeping up with this ? There is supposedly a phased cease fire. But one of the conditions of the Trump backed peace plan is Hamas is required to turn in their weapons....which Hamas will never do.
So is there actually a peace agreement ?
10 minutes ago headline:
At least 27 people have been killed in fierce clashes between Hamas security forces and armed members of the Dughmush family in Gaza City, in one of the most violent internal confrontations since the end of major Israeli operations in the enclave.

Probably because there is no one left for the Jews to kill.

Hav e any of the hostages been returned yet?

Supposedly the remaining 20 of the "live" ones.
Though I'm always skeptical on believing terrorists on anything.

By your statement that Hamas will not give up guns, it is a failed cease fire.
But i'll still credit donny for getting what is currently happening.
A hard peace is another entirely different animal.

I have hopes that the situation in Gaza and the so-called West Bank can be turned around. There are many other namiddle eastern nations seemingly now on b board.
Certainly there is potential for continued peace and eventual economic development for Gaza. There is big money waiting in the wings as everyone with oil is now looking to diversify. Lebenon used to be a vacation destination . . . bu ttoday it is not. Maybe there is hope now for Lebanon too.
Around the world, there are millions (a billion?) devout Moslems who adhere to the peaceful verses of the Koran. Yet there are also a minority who find reason for unrelenting violent Jihad against everyone else. The m most vicious manifestation of this was the ISIS violence in Iraq and Syria that also dismayed an entire society of Moslems who followed a different tradition.
And so, I am cautiously optimistic.

Hamas is already exerting its presence, so...
So, define peace.
Attacking brother/sister Palestinians?
or
Attacking Israel, again?
If the first, it's already over.

exactly. HAMAS would sacrifice everyone alive today just to defeat Israel which they can't.
so their end game is all Palestinians die .. just to defeat an unbeatable foe they have hated since they were goat herding Bedouin assholes. which they still are.
not a good plan
bahahahahaaa

Peace has no chance when it comes between Israel and the rest of the Middle East. The truce is already OVER before it has begun.

Apparently this is a 20 step process. Trump got quite a bit of praise from Democrats and Republicans alike.
Some others felt they deserved to get a lot of credit also.

Peace has the best chance of lasting now vs anytime over the last 65 years. Main reason is Trump, stopping Iran, letting Arab countries know he will stop Israel if they go too far, and most Arab countries on board with the program.
