With Tomlin the General Manager and Coach have we gone the way of Cleveland. Five starting QB’s in the last two years.
Anyone surprised he wasn’t General Manager & Coach of the year at least once.
I see roses thrown for a wonderful season, Pittsburgh is so fortunate.
May draft a couple defensive lineman and have them play corner.
One year he drafted a guard put him at center, that worked out great in Ben’s last year.
How about drafting a corner because his dad was good and he grew up in the coach’s home.
Why not draft a malcontent WR then coach him up.
How about trading up for a left tackle then play him on the right.
Moving on, draft the best player available at Defensive Line or Corner.

I read somewhere that there has only been 3 assistant coaches fired in the last 15 years. The rest just left when their contract ran out. That’s on Rooney and Khan!
I don’t want Russ back! He takes way too many sacks and is slow now. I’d rather roll with Fields and get some weapons on offense and D lineman. The more he’s here, it’s becoming obvious Benton is another average guy. No push.

Why, because he won a Superbowl riding the pine?
What did you like about him? What would have been different with him?

Draft a WR (maybe Ebuka?) in round 1. Defensive line is deep in this draft; they can get a good player or two in rounds 2-4. Look for a RB in those later rounds too. Najee, from what I’m hearing is likely to get something along the lines of 3 years, $18M. That’s too much for a back who really is pretty much just average. Free up cap space for something else, namely signing Fields to a “show me” type contract, something like 2 years, $40M maybe and looking at a free agent WR. QB is weak this draft and Fields is probably their best option for 2025. If he sucks and the team tanks, well, next year is shaping up as a better QB draft.
Pickins is certainly a head case, and I would like to see them trade him, but they currently have nothing on the roster in terms of replacing him as a #1 WR. He knows this as well, so unless they get a couple other options at WR, there is no way he will shape up. Maybe if they draft a 1st rounder and sign a big name free agent, Pickins will have his “come to Jesus” moment and figure things out? Obviously that is best case, but at least they could move him if they have a couple other options.

my take is rooney wants wilson, so thats what will happen
fields will get more on the open market being younger than wilson and wilson has to know his open market value is small especially since it looks like darnold and stafford may be out there....
frankly it makes better sense to take wilson, behind an improved oline he is the better qb and gives them a better chance to win. if the oline tanks, like it did last year, well we tank and get a better draft pick in 26 which has better qbs coming up
wilson isnt the future, he is a bandaid
fields will never be a top 10 qb, just a long term bandaid
offer wilson a two year 40 million and draft some help and pray the oline stays healthy and gels

Poni didn’t report it. Adidi did. She’s been covering the Steelers for years. She has solid sources. Check the tweet again. She was on Poni’s show.
