Default No tax on overtime.

Was looking through some of this and how it might work and what it will cost. Over 10 years it can reduce tax revenue by 3 trillion. One of the provisions is proposing overtime to be paid after 160 hours of work instead of 40 as it is now. Imagine the boon to employers working that. 10+ hour days until you hit 160 then not scheduled any more. Or an employer could rotate OT, like 50 one week then 37, 37, 37 for 1/4 of their workers. Then next week next 1/4 of staff is 37, 50, 37, 37. This would be epic if it affected mostly maga workers which it likely would.

He is referring to the totality of 4 working weeks a month at 40 hours a week and not just one working week, genius. I hope that helps you understand the obvious. To help you out even further because I am in a good mood because the Lakers won, 4 X 40 = 160. Notice in his examples about hours that he was using that both examples were in 4's?

Geez, no wonder Trump primarily focused on geniuses for their votes... you just went on a silly rant for nothing because you are unable to comprehend the simple bare basics of the guy's fucking post. LOL

As far as the topic, I admit I have not paid much attention to it because it has no effect on me and mine. I have not had an hourly wage paying job since I was an undergrad.

His big concern here is the gumment not getting enough money from the already over taxed hard worker...are you like he is?? Being concerned the over bloated over spending gumment won't get there "fair share"...do tell "genius".
Fuck the over bloated reckless spending gumment, there shouldn't be an income tax in the first...when it was first implemented almost a 100 years ago was only suppose to last only a short time...now look ALMOST A 100 YRS LATER taking more and more!!!
DOGE IS WAY OVER DO!!!!

DOGE is needed.
Cause Govt always expands to spend every dollar it gets.

I know folks that love flex schedules, as long as that is scheduled in advance. That said, for some jobs, folks are always on call and sometimes live on site. And yes that actually works.

Folks think that I and my fav are insane for running cattle at our age 365 days year. We're having the time of our lives and most of our expenses are tax deductible except for food and clothing.

I won't even post the amount in taxes I paid for 2024 because it would sound boastful. I will say that there is a reason I don't give a fuck about inflation and why you'll never find a single post of mine whining about it.

I don't care about this country's deficit and tax revenue. We are a "ghetto fabulous" country meaning we spend money that we don't have - spend now, worry about it later. That's what we do.

I have no clue where my hard-earned tax dollars are going, but I'm pretty sure I'd hate to know. I concentrate on what I can control and not on what I can't. So no, I don't care about this country generating extra tax revenue to possibly waste on unnecessary wars or countless other things I don't even give a shit about but that's not my call.

I'll be honest, the only reason I initially posted in this thread is because you were trying to be a smartass with the OP, and I thought your lack of reading comprehension was funny when YOU accused him of being drunk while you could not even discern a week from a month in his post.

Spending every dollar it gets, that is the problem it spends WAY more then every dollar it gets how the fuck to you think they are in the massive debt they are in now and even going deeper with deficit spending Funny how you say..."I don't want to sound boastful"...that is all you EVER do..arrogant egotistical people can't help it.
In regards to not being able to change what is now happening in gumment...Trump is in the process of draining the gumment swamp now but it won't happen over night.
The problem with this country is too many people like you don't give shit...what a sad outlook on the future generations...but you got yours that's all that matters to you
You just stated it so succinctly.
Please come back with more of you boastful arrogant chest pounding.

It’s simple.
The US is on a 40 hour work week. Anything over that is time and a half. Sundays and Holidays are double time.

That is how it works in the vast majority of US business.

The overwhelming majority of workers that are paid overtime have W-2 income that is subject to income tax, Social Security, and if applicable, Medicare.

Trump sees it as simple. If you have W-2 income, and do work more than 40 hrs a week, any wages after 40 hours will not be subject to overtime.

Why does everybody have to make everything so fucking complicated.

Trump doesn’t.

That is exactly what I was saying this 160 hr being 4 40 hr work week in regards to overtime is about as convoluted as anything and one has come up with.
Neither one of the two can explain the overtime payment.
The OP is hung up on the MAGA as it is some kind of plague that it destroying America!!

That 40 hour week is on the table to change along with the no tax on overtime. Will it pass, who knows. But if it does employers will have a field day with this.

Debt has exploded in part because of large deficits. Take another 300 billion of tax revenue per year and the problem gets worse.

Roy, I think Jacky was simply referring to the 160 hours you alluded to. I didn't get that either as far as overtime pay. When I was paid hourly, overtime was based on solely the hours worked that week. But as I admitted, I don't pay attention to that now, but I realize things may have changed from two decades ago regarding OT compensation.

If nothing has changed since then, I don't get why 160 hours is even brought up because it would be irrelevant about OT pay. A link to clarify would be helpful.

Edit for below: Stop your crying! LOL

Sounds like you think forking over a big chunk of your income to Uncle Sam is a cool thing, eh Luke?

Here's a thought - after calculating your taxes, write a check to the US Treasury for TWICE the amount you owe! Then you can walk around with TWICE the swagger!

Hey Luke, your alma mater is calling... UPenn wants you to return your finance degree.

Got a link for that estimate, roy? I happen to care about the deficit. Thanks in advance.

Haha. I'm not the topic of this thread. Do you ever think that "ol luke" just gets bored with angry old bitter simpletons and just takes the high road and ignores many of them to avoid points for insults?

Don't worry about me and worry about your lack of reading comprehension before you insult people... I have a long work week ahead of me so the government can take more of my hard earned money... you keep thinking about me though while I laugh at you for doing so. Peace out for now, blouses!
