New Resturants in North Dallas

I know there are a lot of great restaurants to eat at in North Dallas. Does anyone have any recommendations on places I should try this week while in town?

The two things Dallas does better than nearly anywhere else are TexMex and fried chicken. (OK, a 3rd is southwestern cuisine but that involves going downtown for fine dining.)
Your favorite TexMex joint is practically a religion, but there's solid local chain options as well as standalone outposts. Assuming by North Dallas you mean "South of 635" and not "Far North Dallas" which is around Bush Turnpike and Plano, I'd say Gabriela and Sofia's or Fernando's or Mattito's, Tupinamba. If you're in Far North Dallas, I'd say Mia Dia from Scratch, Lalo's, Mena's, Mexican Sugar, La Hacienda Ranch.

For fried chicken, you have to do Bubba's or Babe's.
