Fort Worth Mayor's Race Tomorrow... Is Cowtown Woke?
https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/politics...mayor/2649541/
Peoples (Black) received 1/3 of all votes cast, in May. Parker (White) had just over 30%, 2 1/2 percentage points behind Peoples.
In today's political climate, it might be considered safe to assume Peoples holds the vote, wins the Mayorship. But...
35% who voted in May, chose someone other than Peoples and Parker. Peoples was THE Black candidate. She already got the ''black vote'' in that 33% she got in May. Anectdotally, I have seen more advertizing from Parker, and she has the endorsement of Police and Fire Unions, and the outgoing Mayor, Betsy Price.
I think Parker wins, 59%-41%.. Put another way, the 35% that chose someone else in Round One, will skew 27%-8% in favor of Parker.

I guess this isn't really the Political Forum, since nobody seems to care about a local election. Or maybe 2 women candidates is a bore?
If Parker wins, and Fort Worthians riot, burn and pillage, you'll be all over that.

I didn't figure you would.
Parker won, but with a smaller margin than I predicted. Fort Worth is the 12th largest US city now.. Insane. Seems like just 5 years ago it was #32.

Blonde hair, green eyes and 2 sons who aren’t wearing dresses and lipstick. She’s obviously a white supremacist and transphobe.

I don't go out West to FW much from Dallas, but I do like the city. I had no idea it was that big but I usually just hang out in the downtown area when I go there so it's hard to judge the size of a city when you only just do that.

Fort Worth is not that big. just 1/4 the size of Dallas.
combine Dallas-Fort Worth, you got yourself a mega-city.

You must be looking at the wrong website bro.
Ft. Worth is more than half the size of Dallas.

I am surprised you could even look that up with all the tears in your eyes about the mayoral races all over the state going red.
But yes, you are absolutely correct.

No partisan municipal elections in Texas.
No primaries.
Period.
