Alamo Drafthouse

Saw this story about Alamo Drafthouse. It's a chain of movie theaters in Texas that's serious about the "no cell phone" rule and will kick people out. I guess they make their own colorful PSAs about it, one starred the former Gov Ann Richards.

Apparently this one girl was angry about getting kicked out and decided to call and leave a 90 second rant on their voicemail. They turned it into a great PSA.

That was really entertaining. It makes a GREAT commercial, too.

It's a major pet peeve of mine when idiots play with their cell phones in a theater. It's refreshing to see that the Alamo has put their foot down. I hope other theaters follow suit.

I love love love the Alamo, but no they don't play about that there, they want it pitch black and quiet.

It's worth it though because they have a full bar, a good menu, you can get whatever you want through the movies..

from a burger to a beer, to a martini.

they play classic movies there, I saw Taxi Driver there last month..

and they don't allow kids. Gotta love it.
