Hello All! I'm a bit concerned......
Hello to everyone!
I'm a bit concerned about the weather that you all are having in the Midwest/Missouri area.
I'm to be visiting Kansas City tomorrow, but not sure about the snow and ice that is expected.
Being from Houston, I don't get much of an opportunity to experience this type of weather, so I'm not sure what the drive will be like on the highways.
I saw a news story about the pile up on 44, but am thiinking I can take 35 instead since I am, currently, in OKC.
Any thoughts or updates for this little lady?

Hey babe! Really most of the weather and ice is going to be NORTH, so you won't even hit any of it until you are in KC. Don't think anything is happening south of KC down I-35, from OKC where you are coming from. Only expecting maybe 2 inches of snow in the northern part of the city.

You should be fine coming from OKC. This isn't much of storm for these parts, and they do a great job of keeping highways going during the storm(in Kansas, can't speak for OK). Just take it slow and pay attention, you should be good.

Slow & steady..
Keep this in mind and this is what I tell my little ones when they're driving. To pay attention portion means when you see this truck barreling up going faster than they should let them pass. . more than likely you'll pass them up in the ditch ahead. You will need your offensive and defensive driving skills. like it was mentioned up this way we are so prepared for this kind of weather they have been prepping for it. Therefore the main roads should be decent highways should be good as well.
Safe Travels

Nicole,
Coming up 35 today will be fine.
I'm running east on 70 out of Colorado through the flat as a pancake state (ks) and there's nothing except clouds off to the north.
Anyway, you'll make good time.
The newsy weather forecasters can be amusing at times with their end of the world predictions.

Thank you Savannah!
I agree slow and steady is the key in such conditions.
It even makes me shake my head at the folks in Houston who drive 80+ with no turn signals. LOL
Unique_Carpenter,
Thanks for the intel!
I'm hoping that whatever ice that may form overnight, will be melted by the time I'm ready to head that way at 9am.

Everyone, please be safe out there.

The main roads are mostly clear. I do worry too though & would rather host than travel because California is totally different as well lol (I get so anxious when I have to drive in bad weather) but like mentioned the plows do a pretty good job with getting the snow out of our way . Safe Travels gorgeous !

Thank you MissMiaB!
After seeing the story about the pile up on 44, I was seriously thinking of heading back home to Houston.
But, I'm going to make this trip happen, since my RW schedule has me under a heavy work load. Not sure when I will have time to come back this way. :/
You, have a very nice showcase, MissMiaB. Lovely figure.

The forecast for S.of 70 is good..if anything just flurries..I am not from here but I am visiting, and staying s. of 70. Everything that does fall(further north and east) will likely be gone by the time you get here, so I am sure the plows will have roads treated, just take main roads-I44 coming through to Joplin and up this way shouldn't be bad at all...or are you coming up through bartesville? The weather should be fine either way..I have heard just rain that way...not 100% sure on that, so don't quote me! lol install an app that will update you on the weather alerts on your route..I just use weather.com and set alerts for many towns along the way.. take it slow. You will be fine. Have a great trip. KC gents are wonderful. If you need references, I am reference friendly :-)
