Default prostitution in the 60's

I don't really know why, but I was wondering what it was like in the 60's. Did all the "free" love have any impact on the sex industry? Can any mongers enlighten us?

HARRY MUDD'S WOMEN!

Excellent, Trip!

BTW -- is that a tribble in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?

Regarding the topic, Brit: I really didn't start mongering in earnest until early 70s, but if anything all the "free love" -- and there was a lot of it -- only incited me to be more adventurous. In fact, the permissiveness of the times probably set a level of horniness for me that carried through until today.

Of course, I do remember the famous "fuckee suckee for two buckee" in Boystown back in the High School years. And there was fun to be had in La Grange, Sealy and Rosenberg in college, as well as a chitload of MPs here in Austin where everything was on the menu. But even getting "free love" -- I put it in quotes because it was freely exchanged (along with other things), rather than without a price -- the hobby became an increasingly important part of my life during those times.

I doubt it. I was in college in the late 60s when the flower children were at their peak. Very popular in college, not so popular after college. There weren't too many occupations that were accepting of the hippies, so you either changed or worked in probably a lower-paying job.

I think a very small number of the females actually changed their attitudes toward sex at that time. Some certainly did, though. Personally, I was always an easy lay.

How could you forget to include The Wagon Wheel in Galveston County?

I remember a story in Penthouse around 74 or 75 that basically said the the "working girls" in Las Vegas had a tough time because there were so many ameatures coming into town for a few days and charging half price or less just to make a little spending money back at school.

A friend who worked at a massage parlor near TWS said she got $10 for happiness and $20 to play the pipe, but no full service. This was beyond the $15 the house got for the guy to walk in. That got them top off, another $10 (to the house) for full nude.

60s were dry for me - but as the zz song says - "and a $10 to get yourself in" - or was that the 70s?

ZZ Top played at my HS Prom in 1970. That's a no-shitter

Big Tex, there was a place near Central HS called Cherry Hill in Galveston. Mucha puta there. The wagon wheel I remember was in Sealy. You can still see ruins of it as you pass on I-10. Fuck Marvin Zindler.

Cherry Hill was a different Galveston County house than I am referring to. The Wagon Wheel was located halfway between Alvin and Dickinson on FM 517 very close to the Galveston/Brazoria County line. I grew up in Galveston County and the WW was much more popular in our neck of the woods than The Chicken Ranch. There were very few residents of Galveston County (LE included) at the time who were not aware of the WW. For decades Galveston County LE looked the other way! I do not recall ever speaking with a Galveston County old timer that ever mentioned having heard of a LE bust at the WW. I believe the same was also true of the CR before Marvin Zindler.

No doubt Galveston County was wide open for decades. There were several well known Galveston County casinos that operated openly. One such casino was located in the upstairs portion of a very popular restaurant on the Kemah Waterfront. The restuaurant was named Johnny Walkers. In fact, even today the upstairs portion of the Landry's Restaurant on the Kemah Boardwalk is known as the Johnny Walker Room. That was the original Johnny Walkers restaurant and casino.

The last time I drove down 517, the original WW was still standing and appeared from the road to be in fairly good condition. A friend I went to high school with had an uncle that bought the property about ten years after it closed down. He said that mongers were still dropping by late at night looking for a little action. He said one of those Mongers looked just like you! LMAO

While I do recall hearing about the house in Sealy, I do not recall hearing it referred to by a specific name, other than The Sealy House. If it was actually named The Wagon Wheel that means there were two of them. Perhaps they had the same owner! As I recall, The Chicken Ranch was the first to shut down and then Sealy and the WW in Galveston County shut down 2-3 weeks after Marvin Zindler stuck his surgically altered nose where it did not belong! I agree FMZ!!!

Disclaimor: The above report is purely fictitious in nature and is obviously the product of an overly active imagination. Neither me or any of the friends I grew up with in Galveston County would have ever visited one of those places! No way, no how!

I remember hearing (a long time ago) that the Snake Farm off I-35 near New Braunfels had a few "pleasure trailers" on the back property...Is there any truth to that?

If all they had there were trouser snakes to look at, I'm glad I kept driving!

Well the 60's and 70's were before my time, but well into the late 80's around Lackland AFB, there was a great little AMP off Loop 410 next to the little SC called the Tender Trap. It actually had all races working the place but actually run by a Korean. Some brownie stain, religious type sheriff got elected in '90 and closed all the AMP, jack shacks and a number of strip clubs down there in SA for promoting prostitution. There was also one on I-35S just outside the Loop that had Latinas working in it.
