Default Does Your Pet Out Rank Your Provider or Spouse ?

and vice versa to the ladies when it comes to Tricks or your RW boyfriends.....mine certainly does and that applies RW or Hobby.

Monty is alright in my book.

Quote:
Dear Abby: I met my husband, ‘Monty,’ shortly after he lost his wife of 14 years. Monty has two dogs. The one I have issues with is ‘Ginger.’

Ginger acts more like a wife than a dog. She clings to Monty to the point he doesn’t have any time alone. She’ll sit outside the shower until he is finished. If he takes a bath, Ginger sits on the edge of the tub. She runs to him when he gets home from work to greet him before I do. As she’s running ahead of me, she looks back as if she’s worried I’ll beat her to him.

She sits next to Monty on the couch when we’re watching TV. I hesitate telling her to move so I can sit next to my husband because he treats his dogs like gold. His excuse? “They were here for me when my wife died.” I’m sympathetic to that, but where do I fit in?

also remember reading a story years back where a woman put her older dogs to sleep for a guy in Seattle; a year later he left her and she was conscience stricken. Never recovered from it.

Yes, my 4-legged bratz do. I even had a shirt made that says "if my dogs don't like you, then I won't either". Good thread

I love my dog, and my dog loves me, but the munchkins totally outrank him. Godspeed to any future suitors who may try to fuck with the hierarchy of my home.

I'll definitely spend money on my dog's needs before spending on a session. I mean if I schedule a G/G session, and my dog gets sick, I will postpone the session. I'm nice and will tip the lady well for her trouble in rescheduling.

Absolutely!

I don't have any children, so the Irish Chihuahuas are the top of the Fancy food chain. My longtime loyal regulars know what a beloved and important focus point my "furkids" are in my life, and are affectionately generous with Christmas gifts to me AND the wee woofs. (They rake in the Pupperoni, Beggin' Strips, squeaky toys, and chew bones during the season of merrymaking. Someone even gave them their own green velvet chaise lounger a couple of years ago.)

Amorous appreciation to those kindhearted, understanding, wonderful fellows, and you know who you are!

I used to run Fancy's Christmas Creature Comforts Pet Food Drive for homeless shelter inhabitants and Ani-Meals on Wheels recipients for many years, collecting chow, towels, bedding, and doggy donations, and am sad that I just couldn't manage it this howliday as I'm still remodeling the Irish Chihuahua Refuge following the spring windstorm damage. I encourage everyone to consider all critters great and small this season of giving, and if not adopting a new family member, contribute to your area shelter or the ASPCA, please.

Agree with the other ladies; my fur babies come first! I have 2 kitties (yes, actual cats....)

They are the loves of my life and come first. I don't have an SO right now, only lovers. I once told one of them something like, "If one day my partner were hanging off a cliff, and so was one of the cats, and I had to choose, the guy would die."

He countered with, "That's why you're single." Ha!

Anywhos, I agree that you should have your priorities straight in this arena. If you have established pets that are important to you, and you end up meeting someone, even if they can never love them as much as you do, they should at least be able to respect them and make room for them in their life as well. If they can't, then it's probably not the right person for you. I once got rid of a pet for a man when I was younger, and I will never do that again. But this is also one of my arguments advocating never co-habitating with someone.

If you both have your own space, it shouldn't be as big of an issue if you keep the pets at your place.

Default Thanks Fancy for your National Dog Day thread

http://www.eccie.net/showthread.php?t=1816331
She crossed the rainbow bridge the day before Thanksgiving in my arms and had a rich life. I was lucky to have her for twelve years. Sending her off was the hardest thing I have had to do in my adult life. It's a horrible thing to have to do. Thanks again and happy holidays.
