The Tragedy In Japan Hits Close To Home...
Please take a moment to say a prayer for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan. I have a Japanese friend who's very worried and upset because he cannot contact his family inTokyo.
As I watched the news this morning, I felt a sudden chill, as this hit too close to home for me. I lost my birth mother, during a typhoon in Japan, when I was just 1.5yrs old. And, until today, I never really thought about how scared she must have been...during her last few moments.
Life certainly is too short.

DITTO........DITTO!!!! A country full of a such a friendly people indeed needs our prayers and support during this historical tragedy. I had one of my prayers answered as my Japanese friend finally responded to my e-mails. This was after she had to complete a 4.5 hour walk home due to all trains, buses and taxis being halted due to Mother Nature. May my GOD extend his compassion and healing power to the "Land of the Rising Sun" now and over the coming weeks.
Domo Arigato LikiNikki for starting this thread but also my deepest condolences for your lost. Indeed LIFE is too short.
Prayfully Submitted....

I am absolutely blown away by the fact that Japan moved 8 feet as a result of this earthquake and the axis of the earth by 4 inches. What an awesome display of raw power! It really shows how insignificant we really are on this planet. My heart goes out to the people of Japan.
And it still goes on. Take a look at the map of recent events Texas Tech has put out showing all the seismic activity: http://mapserver.gis.ttu.edu/japanquake/
God bless the people of Japan.

I read that as well - I can't find the words to describe how crazy that is...
I wonder if this will have any kind of effect on the eco system or the planetary orbit around the sun...?

Agreed, if one Tectonic plate moves then something else has to give. Hawaii had early signs before the quake when one of it's volcanos was acting up more than usual. I hope Japan recovers soon. I always wanted to visit Japan and see their temples. Been a dream of mine for quite a while now. Some day I will.

I just found out today that the earth's rotation increased by 1.6 milliseconds due to the force of this quake. Incredible!

I agree with you all. I lived in Japan over 5 years and a while in Okinawa as well. Beautiful country and people. I have friends, family and my former martial arts instructor still there. (thank goodness they are all well my last report). I know I will do my part to help with a donation. It's great to see so many coming together to address this concern in the world.

I read that too Rakhir...it's scary as hell! We're supposed to have a *Super Moon* next weekend (Saturday, 19th.) Scientists say that it doesn't have anything to do with these natural disasters...ah, ok, if you say so! (lol)
http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/...cientist-says/
Anyway, pleases donate what you can. I always donate to the Red Cross whenever there's a natural disaster. You never know when we may need the help...this kind of disaster could happen anywhere.
Have a great week everyone!

Nikkie, I know every scam hound is going to set up a fake website purporting to be legit.
Got any links that'll get an express trip to help with Japan Red Cross or other organization that has feet on the ground?
