I have had an extremely difficult time attempting to reserve a room this weekend in the upstate NY area (Utica, New Hartford, etc) due to the fact that it being boiler maker weekend. Congrats to the runners, but has anyone else found somewhere remotely suitable? I know I could always get a multi hour room but I fear my clients would not be comfortable with the appearance, atmosphere, and even smell of the room. I don't want to sound like a flake because I did place an ad saying I'd be available this weekend, but for single sessions it's a little hard with out being able to find a decent room. Anyone have any solutions to this or run into similar problems?

Even today you are still having issues? I know the race is over and I'm sure most are on their way back home as work calls tomorrow. Haven't looked, but would think you are safe to get a room now. If not, damn, I know it's a big weekend for Utica but Jesus, I came, I ran and I left.

I've had that issue before as well. If I have a whole day or weekend pre-booked I would pay the premium price for a nice room and just suck it up and have less profits. I would not go to a by-the-hour or super cheap room, I'd rather cancel than ruin my reputation. You could do some exhibitionist dates or car dates.

Did you try Priceline? There were open rooms for $120 or less available.

For a hotel to be listed there they have to keep certain rooms open, always check Priceline.

It was boilermaker weekend, they were overcharging for rooms, even at the Red Roof in Rome they wanted almost 100, rooms were hard to come by cheap because of the influx of people to Utica area this past weekend. I think she made wise choice by not trying to get one for sat night.
