Figure I'd start this thread as a constructive response to other posts about provider pricing and board drama. I had made a recent post in favor of a provider's pricing that I regret. Without ever seeing the provider, I have no ability to judge a provider's pricing. In my mind, a good provider can charge market rates and do well. A great provider can charge what ever they want and I will repeat. Hopefully providers and hobbyists alike can add input and promote a more enjoyable hobbying experience.
Now there are many very good providers especially on this board but
few great providers...I don't mean that as a knock against anyone. This is more provider post-grad work rather than a 101 class. I enjoy good providers but LOVE great ones.
Good v. Great: The difference for me is simply provider
service pre and post-coital.
A provider's service before a session is so important to me. When I send over my initial introductory/appt request email, a good provider will respond in a day. A great one will respond within a hour or so. I have heard so many times from a provider, "sorry it took so long to get back to you but I didn't check my email until...." It is so easy to have email on a phone even a hobby/provider phone. Virginmobile offers no contract BB phone service for as low as $35/month. As busy professional, when I initiate contact, my window of opportunity to communicate and see a provider is sometimes small, so I greatly appreciate a speedy response. Time is money for all of us. All I need as a quick response from a provider is "I got your message, I will respond later when I have more time." That works. Quick response makes me feel as if you value my time and
want to see me.
Additionally, when a date/time is set, a great provider will confirm either earlier in the day or the previous day, and of course be available at the agreed upon time. With the great providers that I have seen, it's inconceivable to me that they would be late. They have always been perfectly on time. Great providers would never allow the dreaded "I'm at the hotel" phone call go to voicemail. As I said before, time is money and if I run late there is a negative correlation with discretion and the SO may question my where-abouts.
Screening: It's a necessary evil for all us. I think providers hate it as much as we do. All great providers should be set up on P411 or date-check to make this process as painless as possible.
IMHO BCD service between a good and great provider is pretty much the same. Of course there are variations about who does want better but both subsets have skills... very good skills to please a man.
Now post-coital... that's where the difference is quite clear. After my penis squirts, it does not mean the session is over!
Great providers retain a "present state of consciousness", and maintain a level of intimacy until I walk out the door. Good providers will
just get a warm wash cloth to help a gentlemen clean up, but then lose that intimacy.
For example, many guys gripe about "clockwatchers." I personally have no problem with a provider who checks the time. It is only courteous to me and her other clients. And you know what, business is sometimes business but good providers sometimes fall into "clockwatching body language." By that I mean, the body language changes to them thinking about their next client and/or getting me out the door. The entire session there is a physical closeness and intimacy that develops, then after the final round poof... gone. You notice you're having a conversation from across the room. Maybe you are still on the bed and she's standing. Giving you subtle signals to get out, time's up. Notice the rapid pace of her words, and short responses. Intimacy gone. She's already on the next client... in her mind.
Don't treat me like a King the entire session, and then have me walk out feeling like a customer! That is the last thing I will remember, and subconsciously use to decide if I repeat or not.
"Present state of consciousness" A great provider will of course know what time it is and that the session is nearly over but not act in such a manner especially with their body language.
Some tips for providers; don't say "Time's up!" Use something like "would you like me to run the hot water for your shower?" or "would you like some water before you get dressed?" With these statements, we get the hint it's time to go but also continues the high level of service.
Speak slowly! People feel rushed when you speak at a rapid pace. If you talk slowly and with direction, you'll probably get me out faster, and I'll feel you took your time with me
Maintain physical closeness and continue eye contact. Don't have a conversation with me from across the hotel room or from the bathroom. If I'm on the bed, also remain on the bed. Isn't that how we start most sessions: both of us on the bed embroiled in conversation before the fun. Perhaps help me get dressed. Maybe button up my shirt. Retain that level of intimacy that we built during the session.
Big one; walk me to the door and see me out with a kiss. How many times have providers wished you farewell as they were checking their phone/laptop or better yet from the bathroom? Make me walk down that hotel hallway feeling like a King.
Last tip, follow up with an email after our session. It is so nice to get a response that you appreciated our time together. It shows me that you valued me as a client and make me more likely to repeat.
Ok I know I'm nit-picking over some of these details but over my years hobbying these type of things really separate the categories of providers. Subtle subconscious details before and after BCD truly enhance the experience and make me more likely to repeat.
