Default Ridley Scott to replace lead actor to salvage a film that is in the can

Taking a page from Blade Runner 2049 which inserted a young Sean Young into the sequel of a thirty-five year old movie.

Quote:
As of now, director Ridley Scott plans is to keep the film's Dec. 22 release date.

In a monumental and expensive move, Ridley Scott will remove embattled actor Kevin Spacey from his finished thriller All the Money in the World just weeks before the film's release.

Christopher Plummer will now play J. Paul Getty in the story about the infamous 1973 kidnapping of his grandson, 16-year-old John Paul Getty III.

The movie, which was pulled as the closing night screening of AFI Fest at Scott's insistence, is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 22 via Sony's Tristar. As of now, the release date remains unchanged despite the re-shoots but insiders say that if anyone can pull off re-shoots and still make the holiday release date, it's Scott.

Irony....Spacey's co-star Robin Wright was in a movie called "The Congress". She played herself and she agreed to have a digital self made. She would take a lot of money and the digitial self would make movies forever and at a younger age. So for 30 years she watched her career blossom as she made movie after movie. Never a hair out of place. Besides the Dude was already inserted into a movie. Tron II with Jeff Bridges?
Soon they will just have a library of actors and they pull what they need off the shelf.

removing an exiting player and re-shooting incurs extra cost.

I doubt that he can make the deadline.

best to leave him in place and blackball him.

Green Screen and CGI. The cost of leaving Spacey in the movie is also great. Millions may be lost because many people will boycott the movie because Spacey is in it.

Is that how they do it, Spielberg?

So is that like the weather man? The actor stands up in front of a green screen? What if it’s a green wall? Does it have to be green?

Wow!!!!! Life explains itself.

You think maybe they could add a few sharks into the scene for LLiarMan? Or a black guy hanging out of a tree for you? How about a concentration camp for 2Dogs Magoo? Or a bowl of a jello for SLOBBRIN?

That would get you out of the basement and to the theaters post haste.

Thanks for the explanation! Now I can relax and just watch a movie.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHSH!!!!

You're just disappointed that without Spacey, you won't be able to relate to any of the characters in the movie, you Mussulman-luvin, Hitler worshipping, lying, hypocritical, racist, cum-gobbling golem fucktard, HDDB, DEM.

yes, for the last 6 years since Hollywood studios had the technology to pull this off.

In the movie Fast & Furious, most of the car stunts were done with CGI.

Yes. It could be blue. It was in use since 1996 starting with the Babylon 5 series.

The movie has no chance at the Oscars with Spacey in it. He's toxic. It also appears that Plummer was actually Scott's first choice for that role. Spacey was a supporting actor in the movie, and all of his scenes were shot in a mere eight days. Scott says he can get it done.
