Iowa has a Republican governor, you don't see us liberals making memes saying the blood is on the conservatives hands now do you? I would like to think that regardless of political affiliation any decent human being would agree that this was a totally fucked crime and the guy who did it deserves to be punished with the rest of his worthless life.

No darlin, But what I did see is memes about little children being torn from their parents at the border. One of which was fake. ( Please understand that I do not advacate seperating families at the border by any means) However now, Mollie has been separated from her family by someone who was in this country illegally. The bottom line is he should not have been here in the first place. I don't see how anyone can argue against that.

The children being taken from their parents was due to a direct Trump policy. This poor woman's murder had nothing to do with anyone's policy or anything political. THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE!

Even if they were to completely close the borders tomorrow, crimes like this will still continue to happen, unfortunately. There nothing anyone can say to that, period.

Don't quote one thing and overlook the other.

Also if we were to close the borders tomorrow and crimes like that would continue, yes I agree, however we have removed one potential cause of said crimes. It is almost as if you are saying, we cant change it so lets do nothing especially when there is low hanging fruit.

Spot on. The entire coverage of this case has been about "political messages" on both sides, and hardly any concern for the woman killed. I just spent two hours on the phone with a different distraught friend--an escort whose daughter was murdered a while back. What angers her the most? The media whose first question is not about her daughter, nor about the scum that killed her, but essentially, "What is your position on immigration?" And when she tells them they lose interest because her words don't support the political message. Both ends of the media spectrum are the same in this regard--looking for stories to support their politics, and not giving a damn about the people. FOX interviewed her, was all set to print a piece, then found out that my friend (not her dead daughter) was an escort--STOP THE PRESSES!!!! THAT MURDER WON'T FIT THE MESSAGE WE WANT!!! DON'T PRINT IT!!!! total pathetic hypocrisy. The Lib press just as bad: they wouldn't touch it because my friend doesn't support their immigration views.

Ellen, you are sort of right, bet also dead wrong. Quit being blind and notice BOTH SIDE play this BS game, and neither side actually cares. If it wouldn't potentially expose my friend, I would go on about what Trump himself did along the same lines--willing to use her as a "poster child" for politics she doesn't support, but totally unwilling to show even minimal compassion when he found out her politics are not in complete lock-step with his.

Both get stereotyped, but I agree Trump supporters more so. Unfortunately Trump is largely to blame for that. If he would realize that many of the votes he received were anti-Clinton votes, not pro-Trump votes, and would stop claiming people support him who don't, it would help him a lot in that regard. But he never met a fact he felt obliged to be honest about, so why would this surprise me?

A question for you. What measures do you propose be taken to deter illegal immigration? My guess is that no matter what you or others come up with will have plusses and minuses. And what do you propose be done to people already in this country illegally? Half the illegals in this country are people who have overstayed their visas.

Unfortunately there are no easy answers.
