Default Not another food threAD

I'm talking soul food y'all.
Smothered gizzards/gravy over rice
w/a couple side items.

Where can I find this In Metairie/Nola area?

If no luck I'll settle for the ribeye steak and asparagus here where I am.

Bon appetit

You could try Lil' Dizzys on Esplanade @ N. Claibourne. They have a great lunch buffet

Cochon Butcher in the Lower Garden District and The Joint in the Bywater are both pretty solid.

They aren't a dine-in spot, and they're definitely not fancy. But Manchu does have the best fried chicken wings!

Chicken Shack in BR has a great reputation but I just don't care for the 'cake batter' battered fried chicken. But I do enjoy the experience in there even if I don't love the chicken.

I want seafood this trip

Since I'll be in Nola soon,
Is Castnet Seafood any good?
Pics have me drooling. It looks so good.

Yelp reviews seem good https://www.yelp.com/biz/castnet-seafood-new-orleans

There is a restaurant near downtown New Orleans called neyow's and they are very good. I've eaten there many times I usually get a fried fish platter with some sides. Once in awhile I get red beans and rice, and cornbread. Home cooking down to earth and good people next time you're in the city and look them up neyow's...

PS. I forgot to mention they have that best homemade cornbread dressing. It is off the hook.
