Got tested for STD's...

I get tested about once a year (I hate needles) because I see providers but I also have friends with benefits who are more liberal with their bodies. I look healthy, I feel healthy so I must be absolutely sure.

I personally feel that most providers are safer with sex than the usual girls one would meet and date. Alotta girls from the bars or online dating don't really give a fuck and neither do a lot of us guys. I do though, cuz I don't want to die or make my mama cry lol

So anyways, test results are good across the board, all negative. Yay!

How often do you guys get tested?

Yes hpv and hep are important too. I test probably about every month and a half, just for my own piece of mind. I also do shoots every couple of months that require extensive testing, so I have to make sure I'm being extra careful in my day job. While it's still very subjective, I do agree that there probably is a bit more of a "safety net" within the hobby circle than in RL. Due to more active awareness and caution, the same notion applies in the porn industry.

I wish people would go test more often than I tend to hear (every 6 months or so..) if they're actively hobbying/providing. Mainly because we all know that when it comes down to relying on our senses for sexual health; we can never really have a definitive answer.

Everything. Cost me a bit of change cuz my health insurance isn't that great (Yes I am aware that getting tested goes on my medical record). Though the doctor didn't want too since I didn't show any kind of symptoms. But right now the Austin health community is on alert about Syphilis, thats all they talked about when I chatted with my doc and the test administrators. It seems Austin has a really high rate of infection lately.

This doesn't even test for half the shit out there. If you want to truly know you need 3 things:
Blood test: for HIV, syphilis, etc
Pee test: For chlamydia, etc
Doctor view: For HPV, warts, etc.

If you don't get all 3, you are fooling yourself.....and you won't get all 3 for $20.
