Was there ever a time when John's had more control of the menu and the price?

Was reading an old article of James Worthy being busted in a Houston sting back in 1990 before a game with the Rockets. The article indicated by his statements to the UC's that he told them the service he wanted and the price he'd pay. I imagine this was standard operating procedure back then. Made me wonder if there was ever a time in this game that John's had more control of the menu and the price for the most part. If so it would seem that a market explosion changed the dynamics of the industry similiar to the dot com bubble.

Worthy allegedly solicited sex from two undercover officers, who had taken the place of prostitutes after police shut down an escort service. Worthy apparently had contacted the escort service and requested that two women meet him in his hotel room, said police spokesman Richard Retz.

Retz said that after Worthy told the undercover officers what sexual acts he wanted performed and how much he would pay, he was arrested.

I get your point but where I'm getting at is a potential time before menu options and non-negotiable prices. More interested in the evolution of the industry. Like going from porn mags to online porn.

There's been no change since the Stone Age of Hookerdom...they can ask what they want, we can offer what we want...either party can agree, negotiate or go their separate ways....

It's just a bucket list thing but check out my last review I came close with a 4-way. There are a few pornstars I've had my eye on for awhile. Lucky for me they escort on the side. Lol - Problem is their routes are NYC, LA, and Miami so I'd have to catch them on a special business trip .

oh I won't deny there is at least 4 porn stars that immediately come to mind who are sexy as all get out.

just they get plowed by professional plowers (word?) of the opposite sex on a regular basis. something I'm not. then again you're paying for it so what does it matter if you've got the right attitude. just not me. I like the illusion that I can satisfy as good as most of guys the girl sees.

Mr. Z , there was once a time where whorehouses, bordellos, or brothels were once here in Texas. And even though they were illegal under law, they were tolerated by the people. I hear that in Houston we had "Happy Hollow" as our vice district and in Galveston it was called "Postoffice Street". Even the city of Kemah was known for its casinos and whorehouses.

You are aware of the situation Worthy was in? He requested two escorts from an agency, nothing illegal there. Vice requires a sex for money conversation before an arrest will hold up in court. He was most likely coerced or coached into the conversation leading to his arrest. Example: Escorts show up for companionship and ask, "what would you like to do?" Worthy replies "I wanna suck and fuck." Escorts say "how much you want to spend?" Worthy says "one thousand." Escorts say "you're under arrest for soliciting prostitution." Just a hypothetical but most likely how it went down. Not a case study in the evolution of the industry but a lesion on what not to say in a similar situation.
