Showcase Accuracy
I was chatting with a few fellow hobbyist this evening as we often do on Football Sundays and one shared an experience that I found unique to some regards but wanted to see if any others had similar experiences. He said he contacted a provider to schedule a time for fun. He wanted to make sure her donation was correct as posted on her showcase, however it was not. He asked her why the difference and she said she forgot to update her show case. He felt she should have honored what was in her showcase when he inquired for an appointment, however when she wouldn't he balked. Another gent said the pictures in the showcase weren't representative of the provider at all. How many have had this experience and who's responsibility is it to ensure the show cases are accurate.

Your friend should have chose another provider when she stated a higher rate than was in her showcase. He is at fault for it happening, should have stayed firm that the rate is listed at (fill in)! If she balked, he should have walked.
*edit* I'm assuming by he balked, you mean he chose not to schedule.

+1
If things are going to get awkward from the start, I would have walked out even if I was horny.
I've encountered situations in the past where the provider's rates on p411 and their rates on eccie are different. I use my p411 for screening whenever its available, so before the session if I see a difference in the p411 vs eccie rate, I ask for clarification about which one would be honored. I don't want things to be awkward during or after the visit.
I always ensure to be on the same page about the donation rate for the appointment before agreeing to the appointment.

Simpleton that I am, I remain amazed that anyone who has any familiarity at all with the board would think that a 'bait-and-switch approach' in any form is good business. Yeah you can shave a few years off your age, or some pounds off you posted weight (although doing both makes it much harder), but if there is a serious discrepancy between what you post and what you are you had better be DAMN good BCD to avoid getting exposed as a fraud. And even then, the danger is that there any number of women on this board who are DAMN good BCD, and all things considered I (and others) will prefer to sow our wild oats with them.

I don't do that different rates for different websites... I think it's silly... Unless of course you tour a lot and rates vary from state to state (travel, hotel expenses and stuff)
I don't like when things are awkward from the start either... I never ask about the donation. The guy should know to leave it on the bathroom counter or in plain site. I only see seasoned hobbyist and never touch the donation until after he leaves.
I do not like reading about guys getting ripped off. I also do not like reading about guys getting ripped off and stuff like this happening!!

I guess we will never know what really happened. Ugh!!
Mutual respect... Hmm, and ladies wonder why some guys are so anti "leaving donation before BCD activities" have occurred... The same reason why you want the guy to leave the donation before activities have started!!

Caveat Emptor - Who's responsibility is it to insure the showcase is accurate, Seriously?
Ok enough "pontification", Sure I glance at the rate in the showcases, but more importantly I look a her reviews, if she has $400 in the showcase and her reviews are $120 well I always pay the $400, right!
And then there is Karla, one of these days I'll have to sample that see if the posting personality matches the bcd personality, that is the extra fun we have here on the board. Makes the whole thing a lot more of a personal experience. Shaking it up with a box of rocks is not that much fun.
Sometime you just have to ask, or make a statement. I don't recommend haggling, low balling, or stuff like that. Its more like getting the catch of the day at a sea food place, market prices.
