It's not just the Brothels in Nevada that are in a Slump. The Casinos and other Resorts in the state have seen a serious reduction in patronage since 2008. Add to that the proliferation of Gaming operations nationwide (Native American and other) and Nevada is in big trouble. But this is what happens when people have a reduction in income (either through Job loss or mandatory furlough (like me (Thank you short sighted Jackasses in Congress))) and don't have any (or greatly reduced) disposable income. But they should as the article predicts. Bounce back as the Economy improves. But that may take a few more Years at the rate we are going.

I think they will continue to decline as the face of the business has changed. 30 years ago when we went to Vegas those were the places to go for a quality experience. The girls you could pick up downtown or on the strip were basically SW's or you could get a "call girl" but they were very pricey. Now just like most places in the country the business has mainstreamed (although still UTR) and getting what you want is easy. The internet has changed the face of everything we do and profoundly changed this hobby.

As more and more wealth concentrates into fewer and fewer hands then everyone will lose customers, even Walmart. They cut jobs and increase hours. Not to mention increased intrusion into the personal lives of the people they want to hire. People don't have the money for luxuries like hookers and gambling.

Well, I guess that's one way for the ultra-conservatives to force their Puritan lifestyle on the rest of us...

Stayed up and cried all night after hearing about Nevada's slump. The Gravy Train is OVER. Now maybe they can pay State Tax like most of the other states.

I was talking to Luv from Niagara a few weeks back. She has worked the Nevada brothels for the past few years. She moved back here, at least for the summer. That should tell you something.

Sorry to disagree.....but BOTH the Conservatives and Liberals are EQUALLY guilty for what is going on.

If our elected officials on both sides of the aisles were in kindergarten....they would all be standing in the corner........

You really have to be kidding. A republican is the only one I know that can turn a $250 surplus into a 1.2 trillion dollar deficit while running the economy into the worst recession since the great depression. When was the last time a republican balanced the budget?

Do you really want to believe there is a genuine difference between Democrats and Republicans? The only possible difference is that Democrats throw out a socially liberal bone every once in a while. The only "liberal" policies Obama has enacted has been for homosexual rights. Everything else has been conservative republican policy. Not current conservative republican policy of today where they don't give a shit about this country they are just trying to loot as much money out of the country as possible before it goes down and they move to their Dubai property. I am talking about conservative republican policy from the days when they still cared about this country. Even his most hated by conservatives health care plan was written by the Heritage Foundation and previously enacted by a Republican governor.

We are only allowed to vote for the people the corporate money allows us to vote for. They play good cop bad cop as far as these candidates go. Informed conservatives act outraged by Obama so that uninformed liberals feel good about supporting him even though his economic and foreign policy actions are the same as Bush's. Uninformed liberals hear that Rush Limbaugh hates it so it must be good. Meanwhile Rush's proclaimed hatred of it is simply to get liberals to accept it, and to spur the hatred of uninformed conservatives.

Obama is the second best republican president of modern times, second only to Bill Clinton. He has done more to enact Reagan policies than anyone else. Conservative God Ronnie Reagan wouldn't win a single Republican primary today.

Before Bill Clinton when was the last democrat????
Reason I ask as did is, try to remember who Billy boy worked with to balance the budget and pay off some of the debit. But then blew it later. It was not his party.

Reagan was not a conservative Republican. " I did not leave the democrat party, they left me". He was a JFK democrat(not a bad thing, and much better than a Rocky). JFK and LBJ hated each other. Just like if Al Gore got in with Joseph Lieberman. With Al as LBJ and Joe as JFK LOL.

back ta NY and Rocky. Who was NYS last conservative governor??????

If it was not for George Wallace, Tricky Dickie would have never got in. IMHO Giving us G. Ford that beat Reagan in the primary leading to more down hill yet nice guy that never should have been Jimmy Carter. So now Reagan got in.

in my life time as president Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, are the ones I liked. With Bush I and II along with should have went to jail Bill Clinton as just ok. the rest

So who was the last conservative republican NYS governor, it was long be for me Nathan Lewis Miller
that won over Al Smith only to lose it to Al Smith
