A flake to me, is someone that makes plans with you. You set the date, time, etc....

Then, on the day of, the person VANISHES into thin air. When you attempt to call them, they do not pick up their phone, nor do they respond to texts, etc.

"no call, no show"

They may, or may not return days later, with a story about how they couldnt get back to you because yada yada...(insert anything you want here)

And im of the opinion that in this day and age of computers, phones, cell phones, email, texts, that its damn near impossible to be this rude to someone....WITH EXCEPTIONS being an accident, or your hands fell off or something.

That is a flake to me.

Now, Ive had several men that Ive met from here, insist that I was being petty for dropping them after they have flaked out on me, with lame excuses as to why they wouldnt make it days AFTER not respond to calls of the set time, and date....

Am I insane, or are these men ridiculously stupid? Is flaking a socially acceptable behavior at ANY time for ANY of you?

Why the hell is this so common, and when did we all come to this oddball conclusion that it is somehow "okay" to just brush someone off like that? I'd like to believe most normal well adjusted people find it to be as bush league as I do!

You flake once? You're done. I am low volume so I depend on you and I will be putting your ass on blast for the rest of the ladies!

Anyone wanna come over and make me a happy little lady let me know. And I know that this wont be my first or last flake but freggin A peoples Common courtesy. ITS the damn principalities about it.

Shit happens. That being said not getting back to the person you had an appointment with for days is rude. Whether it is the provider or hobbyist doing it, it is rude.

As for you putting them on your DNS list, I would say that depends on how well they make it up to you or if they are a good customer. How the person recovers matters but keep in mind that the provider is the business owner and performance is mostly on your shoulders. However, all business owners can decide that some customers are not worth their time. The business value of any customer has to be considered in all businesses. Not all money is good money.

You're right, with all of the communication options these days there is no excuse for not notifying someone if plans change. The NCNS seems to me to be a problem in RL too not just the hobby IMHO.

I agree although I tend to give a second chance. I, myself, only did one NCNS my whole hobby career. Why? Because I ended up in the hospital and had completely forgotten to contact said gentleman. I turned out to be ok but I was truly terrified and everything was wiped from my mind. I even offered to show my client the ER discharge papers to prove myself. But if it's something other than the hospital it takes less than 30 seconds to send a text.

Vinny, I understand your need to vent. And to Laz's excellent points, I'll add this: you need to consider such men an occupational hazard. Take whatever precautions or mitigating strategies you consider necessary, because you're bound to encounter them.

I have never called and then not shown up for an appointment of any kind . I have had ncns happen to me , not a good feeling . We're all adults and should be able to conduct ourselves as such . For me I will give another shot depending on how the situation is handled . But it's totally inconsiderate to not even text , so there really isn't any excuse .

NCNS is rude...like you, I'm very low volume and having a NCNS can be costly! On the other hand...I've had situations where regular friends have NCNSd me, but come to find out...they were in a bad accident and the other one had his phone compromised.

So, I've learned to accept that sometimes there are legitimate reasons for the NCNS. Most of the time, they're just being inconsiderate...but, there are times when it cannot be helped.

I send a PM asking if they're Ok, and give them the benefit of the doubt and a few days to respond. If they never do...but, see them posting or reviewing...they go directly into the DNS file!

I hate NCNS especially early morning appts or late late evening.. it erks me!

Hair and makeup freshly did and then NCNS .. DIS BITCH.. is what i think to myself LOL. However, I do understand somethings cant be avoided. I even have emailed the person and asked if they were ok and what happened. No response then starts a thread about grk providers..SMH!! I had seen him before and he was awesome but this unexplained behavior has put him on my DNS list.

Always kept my words on appts, just good manner. I once made two appointments in one day. One in town in the morning, one out of town in the afternoon...what can I say, got the urge when I woke up, drove like bat out of hell to make the second one. relaxed with a massage after, then party all night.... followed with naughty deeds til morning.

It's a "two way street" gentleman & ladies...... Shit happens!!! I don't let it bother me "no "more. Along as they can tell me a couple hours ahead of time that they need to cancel it's all good with me. With the (NCNS) well that's plain wrong for anyone to "flake out" cause we depend on it. What if it was the other way around guys wouldn't like if ladies "cancelled" right away they would be ticked off just as we are.

Vinny... Hope that person will make's it right sorry he wasted your time. There are plenty of good guys that would treat you a lot better. Hope you have a better day! ;-)
