A Sex Club?!

Da** it, I missed another one. Well, thankfully, I can't go anywhere anyway, so no loss. So if, as the operator maintained, it was not, then what was it? It was a private venue with private parties, but I wonder what those suggestive signs visible through the door said. The operator might have been wiser to have not said it was just a place "for people with similar interests to meet." That may sound innocent enough to John and Jane Doe, but it seems to be part of the description for lifestyle groups in general. Of course, it also works for gatherings of tuba players and other no-goodniks. Even though the city had no issues with the business, and it was private, it's still closing after tonight's party. Now where do I not go?

As i stated in another forum, this is mind numbingly stupid. Even if its a sex club, how does crime go up in an area where people gather to fuck other random people? Oh and try driving 5 blocks in any direction without finding a preschool, middle school, high school, or any other type of school. Pretty hard to do.

What on earth made people jump to the conclusion that it is/was a sex club? Man, Americans are so repressed.

I don't think the club was causing crime in the area.
I think the area had crimes already going on in this area.
Location was off Merriam Dr.

I've heard conflicting reports as to it shutting down though. They've put a lot into fixing the place up in the last year and a half from what I've seen of the pictures on swingers sites, it'd be a shame to just walk away from it. On the other hand, the owner wasn't liked by some in the lifestyle because of hand-picking who could attend, so maybe not such a big loss. There are a lot of good alternatives, though mostly on the Missouri side.

I'm sure all the hot ladies want a 350 lb sweaty guy with a 3 incher plowing into her... It really gets the juices flowing.

Just saying I would think most of these gatherings are invite only, and they don't just allow anyone who wants to attend inside. Cherry picking at its finest.

I actually got invited to a swinger's party last night and when I said I didn't have a partner they pretty much told me I couldn't come unless I brought one...which was cool with me, because I didn't really want to party with people I didn't know, anyway. I've never been to a swingers party...it sounds hot (REALLY hot), but I think I just like the "idea" of it. Not sure I could really "get into it" in real life. Ya never know though, I guess! lol

The report said it was on 71st and Martindale Rd. According to the map, that's out west of 435.

That's why the Number 1 rule at these events is "'No' Means 'No.'" Trouble always seems to arise between groups as one becomes envious of the members of another and one group doesn't think another's members are attractive enough or have high enough SES. And you're right about cherry picking. You just can't show up without an invitation, especially if you're a single male. Now if an enticing female showed up at the door, "Come on in and make me, I mean, yourself comfortable."

Staci, that is really strange--a lady disallowed to attend because she didn't have a partner! That's a new one on me, too. I'm sure some people get a lot out of the parties, but the experiences I had were really underwhelming. A single guy with or without a partner can be looked at as an outcast, part of the outgroup of the married people's ingroup. Only one party, probably a dozen years ago, was halfway decent, but my partner did her best to hide and be a pain-in-the-a$$, and she was an escort! I even bought her a couple of outfits and gave her the usual fee because "she would be missing out on possible agency work," but she didn't want to do anything with me there either. She spent so much time in the bathroom that by the end of the night, the host didn't even know who I had come with. Let's just say it was a long trip back to KC. Seems to be no happy medium bivouacked here at the cabin.

I would love to attend one sometime as well, just the scene seems interesting to me.

My favorite club had over 400 signed up for Saturday and I almost went but I had a girlfriend in tow that hadn't ever been to a lifestyle event before, so we decided to go to a smaller bar meetup mid-week. Private clubs are the best, anything at a bar or a hotel ball room puts the kabosh on sex at the party- you have to go get a room. Private clubs if you want to do it on the dance floor you can :-p
