Default Does This Happen Alot?

I am fairly new to the hobby lifestyle so I apologize if this sounds naieve but this is the second weekend in a row where I have had something set up with a provider in another city that I thought was rock solid only to have her either cancel or when I call to confirm tell me that she was unable to make it to Rochester like she had planned. Now I understand that things happen and people have lives but both these providers had my email address so in the second case I don't see why she couldn't of emailed me when she determined she wouldn't be here instead of waiting till I called to confirm and then tell me she wasn't in Rochester. By the time this happened it was to late for me to make the trip to see her.
To me a little common courtesy goes a long way and if providers want their clients to not leave them hanging then we the clients deserve the same consideration. Any insights into this is appreciated.

It runs in cycles.

You might want to change your provider search.

For out of town providers, I usually wait for their schedule to tell when they are going to be in town. It is tough to bring an out-of-town provider for one person, even offering a lot of money, because it gas and the travel time that interferes as well as family matters can outweigh a call.

If the out of town provider was already in town, I think they will almost make the appointment, so it might be a fluke, and just keep trying.

If you want weekend fun routinely, there are many good rochester providers that might help, just read the reviews, and reach out to ones you like.

A traveling provider will advertise weeks in advance the city and the days she will be staying there.
They will start making appts. at this time.
If they don't generate enough interest they will cancel the trip. I've had this happen before.
Usually the good ones will notify you at least a couple of days before your appt.
If one did cancel on me at the last minute it's no biggie, I just would not request another appt from her in the future or I would wait till she was in my city before trying to set something up.

Stick to locals.

Travel to Buffalo or Syracuse if there is someone you want to see.

When you do, have a Plan B.

It is a crap shoot.

Well said PG!

The issue for many ladies who do schedule in advance is that all too often they don't get the bookings they need to make the trip. And then just as we run into issues they may too.

As for trying to bring someone into town, if you have the funds you might make it happen but the reality is that for a traveling lady she sets her agenda and may or may not deviate from the plan.

Sorry you got stiffed and the suggestions made are solid. Either stick local or schedule with a lady when she is confirmed and in town!''

Just out of curiosity, how often does it wind up being a losing venture for you to travel?

It is such a tremendous leap of faith that pre booked appointments are going to happen as scheduled or that last minute ones will materialize to take their place.

It seems like with all the costs involved that the variables are just too great to have enough confidence about at least breaking even on expenses to justify the risks involved.

I like to think of this: Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.'' - e. e. cummings

combined with a little common sense on whether or not a trip might put me in the hole.

I'll be damned that I still can't locate any good card games while traveling!!

RE: It is such a tremendous leap of faith that pre booked appointments are going to happen

Yes, and I believe the gents who schedule will show. Overall, they have been good to me during my travels.

RE: or It is such a tremendous leap of faith that last minute ones will materialize to take their place.

I don't like that leap. I stick with appointments in advance. Without them, I won't travel....

I'm a rural born gal, hon. It can take twenty minutes (one way) to pick up eggs and bread!!

This weekend I was in Philly. I had set up a noontime appt. over one week in advance with a lady traveling to Philly. Her arrival was 2 days before our appt. and her expected departure was the day after. On the night before my scheduled appt. I sent a confirm email. At 3am she responded that she got sick and was on her way home to NC from Philly. Would she have sent a cancel email without my confirm email??? Dunno but I think she should have sent the email before leaving. Respect must go both ways.

Gonna get myself in trouble here but I have to say this.......
It's "OK" for a provider to cancel on us without notice but heaven forbid if we "no show" for an appointment. Seems as though the same rules should apply to both parties.

YAH,

They SHould apply to both parties!

If I make an appointment I do show up, come hell or high water, if a lady is coming into town and I schedule a time with her I will be there if she cancels then I expect notice. If for some un godly reason I can't make it I give her as much notice as is humanly possible!

Thats as it should be!
