Default How about some REAL capitalism? (Not the "crony" variety.)

Woody Brock makes some excellent points in this 6-minute video and accompanying article:

http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/daily...133015735.html

He manages to sell his analysis to a variety of institutional money managers and hedge fund types, and he gets top dollar. I think his viewpoints are worth a quick look.

One key point is that the OWS crowd should refrain from urging that the "free market baby" be thrown out with the crony capitalism bathwater.

Another point is that Goldman Sachs (at least in its present form) would not exist in a true free market system.

A view with which I think a lot of people on both sides of the political divide would agree is that the current oligarchic nature of our financial system is a very big problem.

I love the way this gentleman thinks, but

2016 – What’s the formula to get to a happy beginning in 2016? The end of a less than stellar second term of a Democratic president? The end of a less than stellar first term of a Republican president? I don’t see much getting better no matter who is elected with the grid lock that this gentleman talks about.

Equal Outcome – Has become an engrained ideal for the lower classes. It’s not a true idea, but it is what’s expected nonetheless.

Limited Cronyism – How are we to get there by 2016 with the system we have? We have a WWI style trench system with a vast no man’s land where the bulk of the American citizenry is trapped between battling Gods and Titans. Frankly, I can’t tell who is the God or the Titan. As far as I’m concerned We the People are the victims.

Reaching a Middle Ground with a Political Revolt – How is that to happen? Dogma and religion are are the battle cries of both sides. The extremist on both sides controls us. Those lunatics used to be what progressed things; now they stagnate things.

Capitalism – Capitalism works; mega-Capitalism doesn’t.

Good post, the guy is right on. I hope he's right that America can still come out of our decline, but I don't see any evidence that there is a willingness to do what is necessary. It pisses me off that criminals like Goldman Sachs have tarnished the good name of capitalism.

We need a rebellion at the ballot box. We need to throw out Democrats and Republicans and replace them with people who understand the Constitution and love liberty. It will never happen as long as the two major parties (two sides of the same coin) remain in power.

If we voted out everyone who comes up for election, who refused to work together and solve the peoples problems, maybe they would soon get the message.
